Apple or PC?

i like pc's more cuz there are more bootleg software available :ninja:

PC. I love how I can build it from the ground up, add, remove, upgrade, downgrade. Which is my current baby. Has little tweaks that need to be fixed but I love challenges. Currenly running blackbox as a shell replacement, and will get another hdd as my primary is a bit old. I have an itch to play around with Linux. :ninja:

Mac's have had viruses before. The reason they don't get it as often is because it's not used en masse by everyone as PC's are. If a hacker wants to create some havoc, you go after the biggest pond.

Apple! I love my macs  Whenever I use a pc, I feel like everything is taking sooo long time. Microsoft windows just gives me trouble :yuk:

I use a PC, I think it's cheaper and more functional as a computer, whereas I think a mac is more of a fashion accessory/statement about computers. I would consider using a Mac laptop, but I have an ipod and I know they get scratched really easy, so I figure a macbook or whatever it's called would as well! :flower:

Aw, I want a Mac :/
My PC is only a month old, works perfect so no reason to complaint :)

i am thinking to geting a Macbook 13'' ...
what am usualy doing with my laptop is surfing the internet .. saving/downloading images .. downloading songs from internets .. burning Cds ...my question is it possible to download songs from internet like: ram .. mp3 ... ? is there a programe that i can use to convert ram to wave??

execuse my stupid questions .. i have no experience with apple
any help would be highly appreciated :flower:

^ I'm also thinking about getting the macbook 13". I have the powerbook 12", but it fell in the floor some weeks ago and all the programs keeps crashing! if I can't get it fixed i have to get a new one, and the macbook is my only option as the pro model is too big.

i'm pretty sure you should be able to convert ram to wave somehow on a mac, but i have no idea what program you can use for that. you could always try to google it.

if you want to download mp3s you can use eg. limewire or amule.

hey everyone! I have had a PC all my life but am getting the macbook next week..i have a question..might sound silly..but you know how there's MS word on windows does mac have the same type of program and also what are the cons of macs like what programs don't come wiht it that you need to buy yourself

pout, you can buy MS word for mac, if you're a student I think you can get a good price. you should check it out in the apple store. If you want something for free you can download NeoOffice which is a similar program, but I think it's a little slow to start.

I have the Mac iBook laptop and a PC for home use.

Both are okay with me..maybe cos i don't have much requirements...but I do find the Mac slightly easier to use (after learning how to...it gets confusing if you're used to PC) and it is both stylish and practical. Pefect for our stylish tFS users. :p

If it wasn't so expesnive..i probably would change my home PC to Mac..but my ibook is good enough for now^_^

I actually dropped my iBook one time and thought it was a goner, but someone was able to fix it for me....relatively easily too if I do remember right

Lucky you! I have to pay more than 150$ just to have someone look at it without actually fixing anything

I love this thread…
I grew up pretty much using a PC and used one throughout my university undergrad and graduate programs. However, I needed a second computer (I was tired of sharing a computer with my boyfriend) and my brother gave me his old MAC powerbook. At first it was hard and quite a dizzy experience getting used to the MAC OS operating system but now I completely converted and in love with anything Apple!! Once you go MAC you don't go back ;) I just wish I could use a MAC at work. I am also waiting for Apple to work the kinks out of their new Intel switch until I get brand new 17' powerbook – both my Father and Brother are having problems with the new Macbook Pro units…but they did buy the product as soon as it was released on the market which can be risky for new technology.

i was really considering a macbook but opted for a hp slimline. i love it.
