Arctic Monkeys

I don't really like them. I prefer The Last Shadow Puppets, by far.

I'm a original monkey of course B) But I love TLSP my friend went to reading festival & I couldn't go so she stood through the whole gig holding her phone up just so I could hear the whole set :D was amazing. Can't wait till october to see them. Some of you may have all ready clocked my signature is TLSP lyrics in calm like you

i wish they would make an album soon or at least tour. the last shadow puppets bore me. the only song i like is age of the understatement. ; (

^They've announced live dates in Australia for next January, so an album should follow soon before/after. They've been in California working with Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) which should sound interesting.

In the meantime, their live dvd 'Arctic Monkeys Live at the Apollo' should be released shortly. It had a limited cinema release too.

poor future husband seems so tired, bored, and scattered. i just want to take him in my arms and give him a hug.

They're back!!

Arctic Monkeys debut new songs in New Zealand

Arctic Monkeys played four new songs in New Zealand last night (January 12) as they played their first gig in "over a year".

The Sheffield band played 'Dangerous Animals', 'Pretty Visitors', 'Go-Kart' - which frontman Alex Turner introduced as being called 'Would You Like Me To Build You A Go-Kart?' - and 'Crying Lightning' at Wellington Town Hall.

After opening with former B-side 'Da Frame 2R', Turner said: "Hello everyone, this is our first gig for about a year, so you might have to bear with us."

The Sheffield band have been recording with Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, and made the most of the pause in work on their third record to play the new songs.

Towards the end of the night, a cocktail-sipping Turner told the crowd he was playing a "new one with a Les Paul" before performing 'Go-Kart'.

Some of new material saw the band using a little toy piano and a slide guitar.

The set also included plenty of the band's favourites, plus a cover of Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds' 'Red Right Hand' in the encore.

Arctic Monkeys played:

'Da Frame 2R'
'This House Is A Circus'
'Still Take You Home'
'The View From The Afternoon'
'Dancing Shoes'
'Dangerous Animals'
'From The Ritz To The Rubble'
'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor'
'Pretty Visitors'
'Brianstorm'
'When The Sun Goes Down'
'Leave Before The Lights Come On'
'Go-Kart'
'Crying Lightning'
'Fluorescent Adolescent'
'Do Me A Favour'
'Red Right Hand'
'If You Were There, Beware'

The band are now due to play the Big Day Out Festival in New Zealand and Australia before continuing work on their third album.

That's fantastic, hopefully we'll hear something new pretty soon!

nick is my favourite!!! his voice is ......but alex is too cocky for my likening

someone's looks like he's on the brown. . . heard that makes you an a-hole.

I saw them live and they were awesome!! Alex seemed to be in unusually good spirits considering.

They seemed very intent on playing their new stuff too. I'm not sure I like it but I'm quite fond of the new song "Crying Lightning".

Heres a live preview of the song. Keep in mind its 'bad quality'.
