Arctic Monkeys Speak About New MaterialThis time there's a track title named!
Alex Turner has spoken about the crazy year of success endured by Arctic Monkeys, and that it still hasn't distracted him from writing more songs.![]()
Speaking to Uncut magazine Turner said:
"I can’t stop writing songs, I don’t know what else I’m going to do."
He also admitted that the new album will not carry the tempo that debut record-breaking album "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" did, adding that some may even be played acoustically:
"I’ve written quite a few slower ones- there’s 13 or 14 songs, maybe a few more, in different states."
Laurence Bell, head of Domino Records has already heard one of the new songs, which Turner named "Brain Storm":
"Very bright and metallic – it’ll shock a few people." is what Bell had to say about the track.
To read more on what looks like a promising interview, get the December issue of Uncut magazine, out now.
rollagasper said:yeah, it's all in the accent eh.
and electricringo, i don't know whether what i read is true or not, but it still made me kind of mad. especially since i saw pictures of alex hanging with carl in LA or something and carl was carrying alex in his arms (aw). if it was true, carl should have dropped him then and there.

Monkey singer's new band
Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner has put together a new band and they will make their live debut next month, according to reports.
Turner's new outfit, called The Rascals, will play at the Korova Bar in Liverpool on December 1, according to music site Glasswerk.
The singer has been busy working on new material for Arctic Monkeys' second LP, but seems to have also found time to start work on another project.
The Monkeys have had a hugely successful 2006 with their debut album Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not' topping the UK album chart.
The Sheffield outfit have also had two number one singles - 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor' and 'When The Sun Goes Down' - so it looks like The Rascals have a good chance of success!
Doors open at 8pm. The ticket price has not been announced.
