Ashleigh Verrier S/S 06 New York

I really love this collection....it is so fresh and sophisticated! This feels like something unique to what other designers are doing. More images:

very nice, love the colors and most of the cuts[ except 2 dresses in post 15]

I like it. It's nice, simple, and fresh. The cuts seem well done and I think this is an amazing collection for a 24 year old.

It's funny to sort of know someone you guys are talking about. And by know I mean I saw her around the fashion building and we had an extremely borring Liberal Studies class together.

It's an ok collection.

lovely, thanks for bringing this in, kimair:flower:
i like the cuts and the slightly grannyish look about it^_^

more over hyped NY designers, great:innocent:

completely agree. Nothing special at all there, imo. wouldn't give it a second glance.

I like some of the pieces but it's nothing incredible. Like nothing really stands out^_^

It's cute and I also agree...the MJ feel is definitely there. But, it's a shame we're all just using words like 'cute' and 'not bad' to describe a very much hyped designer. I've been waiting for something special and 'breakout' to appear in NYFW and it seems it hasn't happened for me.

It could happen, I suppose we have to give Miss Girl here time to develop, she's actually very bright, very sharp, has already sold a good chunk of clothes to the stores and now she's putting it out there for the criticism to fix this here and that there. I still think she has promise, she's very much part of Parsons, which is why they gave co designer to two girls. She was more seventh avenue, the other was more innovation, it's the NY design paradox, either Calvin Klein or Alexander Mcqueen but not both at the same time, no three ways, please.

i really like this! i wish i could wear cropped trousers...on my short frame i think it would just make me look shorter and squat rather than long like that. regardless, it's lovely and i would certainly wear a lot of it. i am not a fan of the shoes though...the platform-style sole sort of bothers me..

thanks kim and jude for the images! :flower:

Vogue.com

I went to vogue.com and noticed that an image from Verrier was selected/singled out as their representation of Spring 2006 ready-to-wear....it looks like she already has Anna's support! Way to go Ashleigh!!!!

I put her on my honorable mention list in "best of" thread, mostly for the second outfit mb posted--I really like the shape of that skirt. I think this is a very respectable and wearable first collection (and in that she definitely distinguishes herself from Proenza Schouler). I can see myself ordering from it.
