Atelier Versace Haute Couture S/S 2017 Paris

Whenever they don't hold a couture fashion show, the collection is beautiful!

Now this is a nice collection, such a shame that they did't have a show for it.

WOW! Stunning! I can already see these dresses at the Oscars.

Flawless collection from Versace.
Thank god they did not have a show because it would have been a disaster.
Atelier Versace was great until she decided to held shows again... NOT ONE SINGLE GOOD COLLECTION FROM 2013 TO LAST SEASON (SS12/FW12 were kinda good).

Donatella and her operates well in this kind of presentation setting.
All the short dresses are pure gold. PERFECTION!

This is the Versace i love: sexy, womanly and edgy without having to try hard to appeal to the younger generation and without having to tone down on the sexiness.
And the models couldn't be more perfect for this!

This is just perfect and quite opposite to what Atelier Versace had showed before: it's not tacky, poorly made or ridiculously looking. This one is well balanced yet strong and sexy. And just wonderful.

^ And here I was, thinking I was the only one who found this way too tacky and overdone, and I usually like Donatella's brand of tacky.

I don´t see any Versace here...but I can see more new material for Saab and Murad to copy from!

I remember a lot of similar designs... Givenchy? Well, again, good riddance. I admire the craftsmanship behind this but the designs are a tacky trainwreck as usual.

They do so so much better when holding a presentation and not a show.
I miss their shows from early 2000's.
But now I do prefer a stunning collection in photos than a disastrous one on the runway.

This is really her best couture collection in a long time, in no small part because it deliberately calls to mind some of the iconic looks associated with the house, not to mention the attitude its best known for.

The short dresses are each stunning, and they're definitely the standout pieces. For the first time in a LONG time Donatella and co. managed to pack a ton of detail into the surfaces without making them tip into overwrought territory. That degradé chain mail Greek tunic? The woven black and white crystal "rope" dress? Flawless for what they are -- flashy, decorative, good-time clothes.

It just makes me wonder where the hell this gorgeous workmanship has been the last couple of years.

This is her best couture outing in a long while. I love her experimentation with detailing and construction, especially in the case of the metallic crochet and the multicoloured chainmail.
