This is really her best couture collection in a long time, in no small part because it deliberately calls to mind some of the iconic looks associated with the house, not to mention the attitude its best known for.
The short dresses are each stunning, and they're definitely the standout pieces. For the first time in a LONG time Donatella and co. managed to pack a ton of detail into the surfaces without making them tip into overwrought territory. That degradé chain mail Greek tunic? The woven black and white crystal "rope" dress? Flawless for what they are -- flashy, decorative, good-time clothes.
It just makes me wonder where the hell this gorgeous workmanship has been the last couple of years.
