Atelier Versace S/S 2012 Paris

The shoes, body suits, and shorts can all go die in a fire. As for the gowns, they're nice and all, but they look spectacularly cheap. (Arizona's dress is the only exception. The detail on it is incredible.)

I just saw this collection on another site and I take back the already tepid compliments I gave this collection. I still like the orange dress and surprisingly the hot pants ensemble, but overall this is one jacked up collection, really, really jacked up! Many of these looks look like designs that a nerdy, straight guy would come up with for the princess character in a science fiction comic / graphic novel. I... I just don't understand it?!?! Atelier Versace has been doing couture collections - amazing, jaw-dropping, artistic, and yeah at times over-the-top and overworked creations, for years, they just were not presenting the collections in Paris during couture week and I am stumped as to why getting back on the Chambre's schedule would cause this massive derailment? What happened Donatella, my inquiring mind wants to know?

Very disappointing because I had such high hopes for the return of Versace in HC week. Ofcourse it goes without saying that its a beautiful collection, very Versace. I wish there would be more 'WOW" pieces. This is the only piece that looks HC to me.

Once you take out all the sl*tty pieces and put the best gowns on the right person I'm sure it will look good. The collection isn't bad but it's not groundbreaking, that's what I expected.

This is it?!?! I guess I was expecting more...I'm certainly disappointed...this feels more RTW than couture albeit the details upclose are awesome on SOME of the garments...she's capable of doing better and she can't use the excuse of not showing in 8 years...whats going on at Versace...

I don't even care about the individual pieces (some hits, some misses there). With that styling and presentation, I'm sold. That's pure, unsaturated, glamorous Versace that I've been missing. Gorgeous.

I thought the set looks like a beauty pageant.

Anyway, I expected too much of Versace's return to Paris. However, I would have to agree with some comments here that it's quite easy for this collection to be mistaken as a mere Versace RTW.

On the other hand, some clothes have outstanding details but the rest, I just find them pretty.
