Whoa. Via WWD:

In other Balenciaga news, noticeably absent from Thursday’s front row was French Vogue editor in chief Carine Roitfeld and her team. They were barred from the show. “We’re blacklisted,” Roitfeld said with a shrug at Nina Ricci later in the day. “It’s too bad, it’s a beautiful house and it’s French. I hope that it’s not forever.” She noted Balenciaga no longer advertises in the magazine or lends it clothes, but stopped short of giving any reason for the rift. “Ask them,” she offered. A Balenciaga spokesman declined comment.

Interesting. I hadn't even noticed that Balenciaga has been absent from recent issues of VP.

^ me neither. Wow...

I did notice there weren't pics of them in the Front Row section on stlye.it but I thought they just weren't snapped.

Wow, this is quite the surprise. Could it be all the attention the magazine's giving to Balmain that caused the blacklist? And when was the last time Balenciaga was featured in Vogue Paris? I think I'll be looking through a few old threads now to find out...

That's weird. Is the VP team still on good terms with Marie-Amelie Sauve?

Wow, what happened between VP and Balenciaga, was it an issue over advertisement or insertion into their editorials. This sounds incredible but it shows that this is no American Vogue...

I could recall November 2009 still featured lots of Balenciaga Resort 2010 collcetion, like Isabeli Fontana's editorial ..that would be the last time.

VP looks impotent againts such a big house.. again like I said, this is no American Vogue, sad.

:( I hope thing are solved.

The Balenciaga perfume was featured in december/january issue I believe, but I wondered (even before these news) why wasn't Balenciaga featured in the February issue with the other brands ...

I wonder why would Balenciaga do that but I assume it must be a business issue.

I was really not aware of this.
And I really don't understand.

Is this has something to do with the fact MA Sauvé is no longer at Vogue Paris ?

Pretty schocked.

That journalists are blacklisted because of their column is already stupid, but blacklisting Vogue Paris ???

I read that in WWD too, and kind of went to some of my favorite fashion sites to see if anyone had the lowdown on it. Seems quite ridiculous, no??? They won`t advertise and they won`t lend? Did someone put a snake down someone else`s pants??

It must have been something very serious, something much more severe than a bad review or bad journalism. It sounds like something very personal to me.

Perhaps they had some kind of agreement in terms of advertising and features, and Vogue failed to do so?

I sense it may be something to do with Marie-Amelie too. It's strange that they stopped using David Sims (a Vogue Paris favourite) for their campaigns too. Steven Meisel is about as far away from Vogue Paris as you can get.

This is just strange, but it sounds like Balenciaga are trying to distance themselves from Vogue Paris and everything/everyone associated, no?

I hadn't even noticed that Balenciaga has been absent from recent issues of VP either.
Now that Marie-Amelie Sauve is mentioned.. I'd love to know why!

I'm guessing that this is why. She hasn't styled a single editorial for Vogue Paris in quite a long time...

It's too bad really, M.A. Sauve is my favorite stylist and Balenciaga is my favorite brand. Vogue Paris used to be my favorite magazine.

Very surprised, and shocked by this, it had to be something serious for Balenciaga to do this, but it does happen a lot in the industry( even Wintour was blacklisted by YSL once), and bans get lifted just as often.
