I used to like Olivier's work, it was simple but intricate and very original.
From the last season to this one I think it's very loud and dated

His first few collections for Balmain were soo good, this is just sooo trashy lol, and toooo mid 80s for its own good. I am all for retro inspirations but the mid late 1980s is an era which should never see the light of day, and this is exactly why.

Okay. What is the construction of those pieces? And what are those silhouettes? The wide shoulders and sleeves and torsos... That emerald dress on Bette makes her body look inhuman. I thought those proportions couldn't be achieved by earthlings, and yet there it is. And everything looks so frumpy and the colors look dated and URGH.
