Beauty Products We Regret Buying

I honestly don't have many (hardly any) products I regret buying because I do a lot of research before I buy something. ^_^ I rarely make impulse purchases (usually it's a nail polish :D) too.
But it happens to me as well. I must say I'm quite disappointed with Bobbi Brown Extra SPF 25 Tinted Moisturizing Balm. I thought I'd love this for colder months, it sounded like a dream come true. A lightweight foundation alternative for dry, dehydrated skin, this formula is ultra-rich, and blends easily, giving skin a dewy look with light coverage. I should knew this was too good to be true. It feels very luxurious, rich and thick and it's a pure pleasure to apply. Heavy glass jar looks pretty too, but I found this to be a little too rich and heavy even for my skin and it covers nothing. And it costs like 60€. It also didn't work with my mineral foundation when used instead of my daily face cream/moisturizer. I'm not really sure what should I do with it. I'm not saying it's bad, but it just didn't work for me. Unfortunately I had no chance to test this before buying.

L'Oreal Magic De-Crease eyeshadow primer, it doesn't last more than 4 hours on my eyelids. It's also a bit pricey for a drugstore product. I also regret the Clinique Mild Clarifying Lotion because it broke me out like crazy! I have a NYX Butter Gloss in Merengue, I don't know, a lot of people seem to like them but to me they're just "meh".

L'oreal liquid eyeliner. It would burn and blind me and the application would poke my eye.

Laura Mercier illuminating tinted moisturizer or something like that. Way too dark and orange ( i'm very pale) and didn't moisturize a bit.

@BibiRose: i absolutely agree with two listed products:

- Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex;
- La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel! :D

Further products:

- Bioderma Sebium H2O Micelle Solution (even more pimples after using this!)
- Hera UV Mist Cushion (too pricey, bad smell, unhygienic when using)
- Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate (really no visible effect, works same as any cheap hydration care)

Bare Minerals Bare Skin serum foundation, it made my skin look so oily and broke me out really badly- shame because its an expensive product.

I was really looking forward to try out this eyeliner, especially because of it's innovative angled tip and I even waited for the grey shade called 042 Backstage Grey a month after the product came out ... Well, it turns out it's a complete mess. The shade is silver rather then grey and it somehow washes you out while not giving enough definition to the eyes, but the biggest issue is the application. The structure is so hard you actually have to press it hard against the lid. Not that is only hurting, but getting a clean line out of it is definitely impossible. Maybe it's just that shimmery shade that's the problematic, but I doubt the darker ones are any better. Really dissapointed. :(

^ I have a very good experience with L'Oréal eyeliners, you can check them out.

I'm on a spending ban so I didn't try out a lot of new makeup, plus I've been satisfied with almost all of my recent purchases. But there is a product I hated...

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Night Renewal Cream - I bought it despite the fact that I'm not a fan of the jar packaging, because of the rave reviews. It made a horrendous mess on my face- irritated it, my skin became dry and itchy. And it smelled horribly. The ingredients list isn't the best either.

Clarins Savon Doux Nettoyant; It's harsh, dries out skin, makes it red and incredibly oily. Horrible.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one. I started this last week and was so excited to use it because Bare Minerals always has good reviews but I was so disappointed. Coverage was poor and it made my face look cakey even though I only used a small amount. Not impressed.

YSL Shocking Mascara - I really wanted to like it but it clumped my lashes and dried up after only a week.

Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation - I have combo skin and decided to give this a try since I'm more oily and this is a matte foundation. I had never tried a matte foundation before and although I am pretty oily, I realized after trying this, I do not like the matte look (at least not completely matte). Plus, this stuck to my "flaky" areas, and didn't hide my pores :( a bit too orangey as well. Application didn't go too well with a beauty blender either.

I was so shocked at how badly it performed on me, I thought I was doing something wrong and kept trying to use it !:roll eyes:
I hope it doesn't break you out as well.

With Estee Lauder if you bought it from a Sephora you can return it (hopefully you can get your money back)

If you didn't then what I suggest is using 2 primers a mattifying one for your T Zone ( wherever you get oily) and a moisturizing one for your drier patches & maybe you can mix in another foundation with your Estee Lauder DW to get the color corrected:flower:

Unfortunately, I purchased the foundation at Macy's and was unable to return it

Thank you for the suggestion! I will try that out :flower:

NARS miss liberty highlighter. it's so pretty and I wanted to love it so bad... but I have oily skin with pores I need to camouflage and the glitter, even though it was fine, turned out to be a nightmare. it took so long for my skin to get back to normal.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. I loved the color (BAHUS or something like that) and while the pigment and textured lasted, it transfers and bleeds like crazy..even with lip pencil on. Also it is very drying.

NYX matte foundation, it accentuated and enlarged my pores. I did not appreciate that.
