There are alot of different ethnic backgrounds in Brazil? Whats the history behind this? ANd when you say Indian do you mean the native indians who already lived there or indians from the indian subcontinent? I heard (acually on tFS!) that the Phillipines is the 'Brazil of the east'. Which ethnic backgrounds?

there is a lot of german ethnicity in brazil because they say most of the germans fled to brazil during their defeat in ww2. yes the philippines is the 'brazil' of the east only because it has a lot of conquerors and rulers. it has been under the spanish rule for hundreds of years. then japan. then america. unlike japan (ai tominaga, devon aoki), china and korea though, we still have to see a filipina model rise to the top.

Its so cool that Brazil is full of so many races and integrated into one known as "brasileira/os". But i have one question, im nto wanting to sound ignorant but i really dont know. For models such as Ana Bea, Raica and Adriana, since they are slightly darker what type of mix would they generally be? Do they represent more of the population compared to other Brazilians such as Jeisa and Caroline?

i second that..Philippines has some of the most beautiful women...they do very well in beauty pageants....i just saw that Miss Philippines won the Miss International 2005 Pageant..WOOO HOOO..lol
