Beyonce's House Of Dereon Line

I am a big fan of Beyonce, and I love her Personal style, and look. However, I am not able to stand up for this clothing line. It's just not good. Thats all there is to it.

:flower: I couldn't have said it better myself.

I think Tina Turner abandoned this look even before leaving Ike Turner.

lol

the scary thing is that the stuff you posted are some of the better pieces in the collection

This is a pic from the line

why couldn't they just leave the clothing to the real designers? personally, if this stuff goes in the market, i'd prefer a versace or a cavalli (as the dereon line's aesthetic seems to be in that vein). quite a business-minded person her mother is. i don't like the idea but if they want to do it, then they're at liberty to do so. i'm just not a fan of these kinds of transitions (especially based on celebrity alone). just my opinion:flower:

I agree.1st of all I don't care for her designs and the prices are crazy over a $100 for jeans on the website.I havent seen the line in stores yet.I want be buying them.

their campaign isnt bad actually. Its better than many of the mainstream and celeb campaigns. She does look quite alot like her sister in the new ads

I wonder why her mom doesnt use the sister in the ads.Or has she?

I think that the biggest problem they have is the kind of fabric they are using. i.e. the jacket showed in the Oprah show was busy, yes, but it would have looked nice if they would have used a soft woolen fabric in a dark color and changed the sleeves. The puffy sleeves in some of the tops in their website will look better in jersey fabrics instead of woven. I think the top the Beyonce's sister was wearing in the photoshoot under a brown leather jacket with fur trim was very nice b/c it was of a jersey fabric.

I think that her mother wants her dream to come true, and I wish her the best. This clothing line is a little different then other celebrity lines because B. moms has been making clothes for a while. But she needs to sit down and really look at what is out there! what is selling and why is selling. Color and Fabric is very important.

I agree ester80 her mom should look at what other designers are making and take a look at whats selling.Woven tops I don't think so.She should use jersery its stretches and its more comfortable.

yes. from the one ad i did see...

This just seems forced! I meen... it says "house" in the brand name. As if they are some high end fashion house or something.. It seems very fake to me... which is sort of is anyway...

And i think the clothes speak for themselves.

Again, they know who their audience is; they know who they are marketing this line to --- and it is NOT toward young, caucasian females -- so does your opinion really matter......actually, it really, really doesn't. It won't affect these sales because you are not in their demographics.
Commercial success and quality are different matters. In fashion just like in the movie business or the literature market, etc.
We are not here to comment on how well the line is selling, that's pointless. There are many people in the world willing to pay extravagant amounts of cash for a crappy cap with Von Dutch written over it, so I am certain HOG will sell aplenty.
Yet that only does not make the clothes good. We are here to discuss the quality of the design, and certainly in that aspect everybody's opinion is worthy. Yours as much as anyone else. It does matter to all the posters who are here to engage a discussion about fashion. If you want figures, go read Fortune.
Maybe you can spend some time looking over Nicki Hilton's line, that might be more up your alley.:innocent:
Do I sense racism here?
For information, being White doesn't mean your going to love trashy clothes. Taste comes in all colours. Just as you don't need to be Black to comment on HOG. There are threads on Haute Couture yet I doubt many posters here can afford the clothes or are the targeted audience. Should they shut up about it then?
Again, people are soooo jealous because she is incredibly beautiful, incredibly rich and at the top of game!
Grow up. High school is so passé.

PS: sorry for the rambling but some posts just annoy the hell out of me.

Yeah .. that is annoying

Like when I said I thought Valentina had a boring face.. someone said I was jealous

thank you. i agree with you. you've made some good points. i don't think most posts here are motivated by jealousy. whoever uses that kind of reasoning may be the one suffering from it. and i also agree with justinleaddict. the name seems forced. it's like this givenchy couture coat (that just has vulgarity written all over it). a brand proclamation is never needed when the quality and taste satisfies the customer and such. oh, and opinions are always welcome. it is, after all, a forum. :flower: (brian/firstview)

Harumi, you can make commentary on her line all day long, but who give a flyin f...... Beyonce is still PAID, PAID and PAID again and really thats the bottom line.

The bottom line is also that she is doing quite well with her collection (guess her clothing line doesn't need anybody little chump change on tfs to be profitable - oh, well) and her Gorgeous Black Bomber jacket is featured in the September issue of Lucky Magazine, when ya get a chance, pick up a copy! Cheers!

I don't know why but whenever I see this thread I think it says - House of Derelick. As in - "I can Dere-lick my own balls, thank you very much" from Zoolander.
