Bottega Veneta Bags

star- the one i saw was a shade or two lighter than on the bv site too. and it also had the same light dusty blue interior.

i'd bet you are getting the same bag as your sis. i doubt they would have one "nut" followed by another "nut" within such a short time.

but by far the hardest evidence is-- (swear to god), that is exactly what i thought when i tried on the bag. that it was the best bv i've ever tried on.

what do you think? congrats!!!! when are you getting it?

Ilovepositano, I don't know.... My sis-in-law specifically asked SA in Newyork if it is different : SA said RESORT COLLECTION ball bag color is NUT and will not be produced again for the spring. Spring new color is HAZELNUT. More yellow in the tone of nut and much lighter...huuunh??

I just hope mine is as nice as my sis-in-law's. At first her real sister ordered my tone on tone ball bag today, then cancelled it and got the resort "nut" aswell. I am waiting till 03/27/06 for my hazelnut. I want a brown one(which I have) and a lighter color for the summer. I hope it's not one of their bland colors.... I will return it if it is not great.

gosh, i don't know what to say. i mean, that bag on the bv site is definitely a "nut" whether it is "nut" or "hazelnut". yet it is lighter than both of the ones we saw- so hard to figure out. i know our monitors are prolly diff, but on mines, the most accurate shade is the one on NM. the confusing thing is the the large leather perforated hobo is being called different "nuts" by saks and NM. saks says it's walnut and NM says it's hazelnut. sorry you're having doubts- are you wanting it to be the same one as your sister's or different??

I'm with positano -- there can't be more than one "nut" color. I imagine there is just one: "nocce" which I believe is italian for hazelnut.

ilovepositano - What colour was the interior that you tried on in the store?

I know what you mean about confusing. I have the perforated ruffle veneta and that is definitely the noce colour as I called a BV store to double check. The interior on mine is the usual light suede. A friend of mine just got a ball bag and I'm waiting to find out whether its the same colour as mine. When I asked a SA about the two colours she told me that they are very similar but that she thought the summer collection colour was maybe a little lighter. As for the interior I have no idea about that. My veneta is defiitely lighter than the colour that shows on the BV site.

i'm strangely intrigued by this bag...:ninja: is that crazy? i think the clandestine may have turned me onto all things blush...

keep in kind that the color might vary depending on the type of leather. I can see how the nocce would be lighter in the perforated leather than in the standard bv leather.

I'm sure they are both lovely colours....if only it wasn't so confusing!

the embroidered tote..
indeed the clandestine has brainwashed me as well..

I just want it to be very light brown. It has to be very different in color to my other brown tone on tone or else I won't wear it in the summer. I hope it's like a taupe kind of brown. Who knows...

I also love the embroidered tote!

Star - I'm sure it will be much lighter. I also have your same tone on tone brown ball bag and its is much much darker than my resort veneta. You should be okay.

sorry - (previous pic from saks.com)

for some reason the pale pink is starting to look fresh again, which i never thoght would happen...and something about the pink/silver looks funky....

oh wait, star-- if you're comparing to tone-on-tone bag, that nocce is definitely a ton lighter!!

Thanks Ilovepositano and Nizlay! Do you think I should get the same bag in a different color or should I go for the tote(tote doen't fall on me aswell,Sister-in-law has it in chocolate and black). The ballbag falls really nicely, but should I get it in another color ? Pics of my own and NM choices...

Star - I'm one for getting the same bag in different colours if thats what appeals to me. I have numerous Venetas and I wear them all the time. The tote looks more like a work/baby bag to me, and if you say the ball bag falls better than I suggest you go ahead with that. I haven't seen the tote in IRL but thats the impression I get.

Star - Have you seen the new Cocker bags. I spoke to a SA in London yesterday and was keen to find out abou the new bags that will come out in the dark blue (lago) and the wine colour (amarone). Apparently they will be available in the Cocker bag but that it will be a bit different from the earlier collection. It seems the handle will be a bit simpler (they said the original was too heavy for summer) and they will be slighly more woven bits on the bag. I've checked the BV site for the new collection but for some reason some of the pages don't come up.

^ I've been waiting for the new cocker bags too. I like the navy (lago). The newer style has a flat braided handle and more woven parts on the bag. The other one had a large braided handle and woven parts on the side pockets. The older style is one the BV website in white (a new color for that bag spring/summer '06).

Its confusing because the neimans website has the old style in the new color as a pre order.

I was told they are still updating the website so I'm waiting a bit longer.

star-- love your brown!!! agree w/ nizlay about getting same style if you like. personally i think the ball bag is stunning in hazelnut -- the lighter color really shows off the quality of leather, as well as gorgeous shape & fit. the overall feeling of the hazelnut ball is very spring/summery and nonchalant chic.
