Aspen - have you seen the new bags? What do you think - better than the orignal one? I have it in dark brown and the main attraction for me was the handle. I'd really loke to get a BV in a wine type of colour so I am hoping that it will work for me. I agree that Neimans is confusing. Also there picture of the navy bag looks much lighter than the colour on the BV site.

I'm dying to see my friends ball bag. Her hubby is back today so hopefully I'll get to see it. I'd like to compare the colour to mine so Ican get a better idea of the different 'nuts'!

I love the python cocker on NM site - $5000. Yikes! didn't know about the new ones coming out...exciting! wHY HAS MY FONT CHANGED? i HATE COMPUTERS, i DON'T KNOW WHY MY FONT HAS CHANGED....SHEES....THIS LOKS STPID, ACTUALLY IT'S FUN... Nizlay - I really like the thick braid too. Which is why I'm going to be disapointed if the new navy (lago) doesn't have it. This is what I was told.
"The Cervo Cocker featured on our newly updated website is only the version for White, Black and Brown. In addition with the Veneziano detailing we have the bag in Lago (Navy) and Amarone (Burgundy/Chestnut). The details are much like the Python Cocker but without the tortoise detailing. "
I was also told that the braid was going to be flatter on those bags. Geez, I want the new bag with old braid in Navy. To bad we couldn't custom design our own.

I didn't see the navy color on the updated website. Which bag on there did you see?

Star - I the cocker in python. Such a beautiful color. That is my dream bag. Do you think python bags will be around for a long time? So much to spend on a bag that would be trendy. Have you seen the BV website with the other python styles? They are all so gorgeous!!!!!!

Aspen - If you look at page 10 under handbags on the BV website you can see pretty much most of the new colours. The last bag is the navy and the one next to it is the amarone. If you look under the shoe section you can also get an idea of the colours. I was also told the Cocker bag was going to have a flatter handle....I told the SA at Bottega the same thing that you said...that the handle is what is most sttractive about the bag. I think it is also available in red with the original handle. I'm not sure if that would work for you. I don't do white or red bags.... I was also told that there would be a bit of a difference with regards to the stitching....I'm not sure what that means. They are supposed to send me the catalogue as soon as they receive it so I hope that will give me a better idea. That python bags is gorgeous but there is no way I would ever spend that much on a bag! Star - I didn't manage to meet up with my friend today but I believe she must have the hazelnut colour because she told me the interior is a very weird light colour, not the beige suede. I wonder if the pale blue interiors are nicer than the beige. I think they should use that gorgeouse turquoise in all their bags, it is truly amazing.

The lago on the website is alot darker. I like the one on NM better. Now I'm really confused. I'm waiting on the catalog too.

I wish they would update their site with ALL the new bags and colors.

I think that is as good as their website is going to get. They never include all the designs. I hope the catalogue is better.

Heres what I found out about the new BV cocker bag. It has more weave just like the python but the handle is flat, no weave, no braid. The ones on neimans, saks, berg.com are exclusive to them in the navy color, older version. BV boutiques will not carry the older version in the lago/navy. They will have the older style but in other colors as well as the newer version.

I don't like how they have certain bags exclusive to one store. I'd hate to think of walking into a BV boutique with a navy cocker and them think its a fake because it wasn't made for their store. I've spoken with several BV sa's and they have no idea that color is being made in the older version.

I think there's very little risk that a bv SA wouldn't be able to distinguish a real bag from a fake. and they are very used to having different inventory from the department stores -- it's typical that the boutiques and the department stores carry completely different bags. for example, the bag I recently bought was only available in black in the boutiques, but I don't believe the boutiques carry it in the ebony. another bag I was looking for in black was only available in the department stores. it makes it difficult to find a bag, but I like it -- it means there aren't that many of any particular bag available and it's cool when they ooh and aah over you in a boutique because you have a bag they don't carry.

just don't tell him and the grief will stop if you get the navy one from neiman's be sure to post pics! I will I could pull off navy -- it's a lovely color.

The sa told me that the lago is also in the hobo style from last season. The one with the braided handle, zig zag down the middle and half moon shaped.

Now I'm not sure which one between the two. Decisions, decisions.

I don't like this bag -- it's huge and shapeless, not very flattering.

when my husband asks that I tell him it's old and he believes me. I pay for all of my extragavances so I don't feel the need to bother him with details.

thanks for clearing that up. I'm not wild about that one -- the cervo crocker is much more interesting.

What do you all think of the Amarillo or the Decalee?

The Amarillo is too small for a daily bag. But the craftsmanship is so tantalising that and unique to BV...

The Decalee is a more comfortable size. I liked the Jardine (black with leather flowers) from Fall '05-'06 but the huge price tag was a deterrent! The Spring-Summer '06 seems to be too heavily embroidered. There's always the simpler, more regular plain woven leather ones.

^ They are both very pretty. NAP has last seasons Decalee for sale. I love the strap on it. Have you seen the Fenice? Its a nice choice if you like the embroidery but it doesn't overwhelm the bag.

I remember the Jardine. The price tag was also to high for me too. What do you think of the new python knot? Beautiful!

I wonder if the Jardin is still available?

i think they might still be available as when my mother got one recently from france she said there were still quite a few..
only 200 pieces were made according to the tablet inside..

Dark Orange BV Ball Bag

Just ordered the dark orange Bottega Veneta ball bag from NM tonight. It's described as having an "open top"--does ANYONE have this bag? Or have they seen it?! Do you know if the top has a zipper or is it really open without any closure.

Really excited by my order but I soooooooo want this question answered!

If you look on the BV website under "shopping online" , there is a photo of the ball bag. Click on the details and it shows a photo of the interior. Looks like there are two snap closures and a zippered middle.
