This is very rare. It's a nosocomial infection, meaning that she probably picked it up in the hospital. If not, her system is likely to have already been weakened since this is a rare pathogen, that either infects in the unlikely event that it gets into the bloodstream (usually, this happens with a needle in the hospital) or because the patient is already in a very weakened immunological state (cancer, AIDS etc).
