Budget Friendly Makeup

Just got two GORGEOUS effect powders from Gosh on sale for 15 DKR each! They are usually 89 DKR each. One is called Tafetta, a gorgeous olive, the other one is called Emerald...the name says it all!

It is so hard to photograph that emerald green, it is so much more vivid.

I read this morning that Essence will now be sold at Ulta stores in the United States... does anybody have opinions on this brand? I don't recognize the name.

Another cheapie brand I like is Stargazer. I love all the different shades they do of eye, lip and nail products. I'm a bit conservative with eyeshadow, sticking mainly with black, but do buy their wildly-coloured nail polish and lipticks. For those who aren't familiar with the brand, look at stargazer-products.com

Essence is very well known here in Europe. The packages are a bit girly, but I think they have few very good stuff. I usually find something useful in their limited editions. But it's also very popular by young girls and often you end up empty-handed.
I swear on on their nail polishes (those can be really addicting, trust me), especially the Show Your Feet line. Wide brush, long resistance and nice colours. I also like mousse foundation, Soft Touch (but there are only 4 shades, I use the lightest one in summer), cucumber eye pads (best ever!), Mineral Powder Blush (I have Almost Famous), face&body highlighting powder, nail art stickers:blush: and also SYF foot scrub and cream.:flower:
I usually read here about new products and reviews. I searched "Essence" for you but it's in German:

If you don't understand a word, maybe I can help you.:flower:

Yeah Stargazer is such an underrated brand! My all time favourite lipstick is by them. The colour is amazing, an iridescent lavender, has great staying power, and it costs a ridiculous £3 :p

I really like ARTDECO cosmetics. Especially their concealer (although it can't completely cover my ugly dark circles) is very nice. And I've heard very nice things about their eyeshadow base. Oh, and I also have their loose powder, which is also ok.

has anybody tried the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector SPF 25 Concealer? It's supposed to be similar to Touche Eclat . . . and I've been looking to find a new way to combat my undereye circles without spending $40!

Striking colour indeed! I'm a sucker for MAC, but I'll keep Rimmel in mind.

I see a lot of people raving about Urban Decay's primer potion, but I'd rather not spend $18 on just primer. I don't wear foundation or concealer so I'm not sure what else I could use instead of that.. Body butter, a moisturising cream?

sorry for the double post, but I second this question - any good d/s eye makeup primers?

i am loving the ELF studio line.. especially their studio line contour brush (for eyeshadow) and powder brush (i use it for blush) soo soft! i am using them over my mac brushes lately, possibly cause they're $3 each and i don't worry about them too much.

also the eyebrow wax/powder from their studio line makes my brows look amazing. tickled pink in the studio line blush is a fabulous color, i have heard great reviews of the other shades as well.

The ELF studio mineral primer is supposedly very nice. Haven't tried it myself though. My fave is the waterproof eyeshadow stick from GOSH. Nothing budges!

You have to find what works for you and it will be different for everyone but I think Maybelline is a really good brand. I tihnk their mascaras are their calling card. My fav is define-a-lash lengthening the one in the green tube. there is also one in hot pink, but that is the volumizing one, and thus tends to be a bit clumpy, in my opinion anyway!

Obsessed with Barry M nail polishes lately. They last better on your nails than Chanel.

Loreal's true match foundation is good, its really nice and smooth,
absorbs nicely in the skin and gives a nice cover...so u can try that out,
its around 14 €....

Can u tell me if u tryed E.l.f's Blush and bronzer compact?? I'm thinking about getting that, and few other things from them, most from Studio collection. It looks really good, the packaging and the way make up looks, so i ll give it a try.
I m glad u said that u like their brushes couse they look preety good and others said they are really soft and good quality. ^_^

I can only tell for nail polishes, they're fantastic, especially the new line.:shifty:
I was going to say the exact same thing about Catrice. Their new nail polish colors are amazing and they only start chipping off after a week, so I'm really happy with them

For mascara and eye liners I like Maybelline the best. I love the High Heels mascara and also the Fake Lash Effect mascara is really good.

My favorite lipsticks are by Rimmel London.

I have yet to find cheap eye shadow that is really good. I love Versace and Christian Dior because they're the only eye shadows that don't smudge. All other eye shadows I've tried (even MAC and Collistar) wear off after an hour or so

^NYX are supposedly really good for eye shadows! And I do love my Sleek palettes :D
