Budget Friendly Makeup

Max Factor False Lash Effect and Masterpiece mascaras - equal if not better than a lot of high end mascaras.

I take this back. I tried it again today and noticed that there is still some purple left under my eye. Boo!:yuk:
It would probably work fine for someone who doesn't have bad genetic dark circles.
No concealer can cover blue circles, you need a pink/salmon toned corrector for that. Don't blame the poor concealer

Masterpiece looks exactly like Chanel Inemitable. Not my favourite mascara, but they are the same

True, but I was just surprised as I purchased one that was more pink toned and I hardly noticed a difference at all. It also irritated my skin so I would have returned it anyways.

Revlon Colorstay Softflex foundation (250 fresh Beige)
Revlon Colorstay Softflex foundation (280 Golden Beige)

love these two for mixing.

Hope I'm asking this in the right place! Does anyone know any good foundations for combination skin with an oily t zone? I prefer a sheer dewy look and really don't like loads of make up so I was going for a liquid foundation but I'm not sure how great that'll sit on my t zone

I'm thinking of getting a primer like Benefit Pore-fessional but apart from that I'm stuck! Someone help me

i highly recommend you l'oreal true match mineral foundation. it isn't very expensive and it's great for oily skin. plus the coverage is great.

Thank you so much, next time I pop into Boots or Superdrug I'll check out those foundations!! xxxx

I so wish we had Revlon, I also hear good things about their lipsticks.

I KNOW! I'm so annoyed by that. And Bourjois now that I've taken a liking to it!

I try to buy their lipsticks on ebay, but it's harder with foundation. It's hard enough just to buy a drugstore foundation even when you can try it on in the stores, never mind online where you can only guess how the colours will look irl.

The brush is the same. I find the formula a bit different but probably not that much to justify the price difference.

This is my second day using Covergirl's Lash Perfection Mascara and it is fabulous!!

Maybelline has some nice products- I like their Mineral Power Concealer- it's suprisingly good- covers very nice and doesn't dry the skin.
I always nab their special edition mascaras- I had Falsies Black Drama (the one with black lace) was good enough for my lashes, and I just bought the The Colossal Cat Eyes (the new one) and it's nice too, lenghtens and separates, maybe doesn't volumize much, but I don't need it.
I like also Pupa Cosmetics makeup- especially their Color Pop mascara- it's one of the few mascaras that really makes my lashes colorful that you can see the colour without a spyglass;).
The rest of my budget friendly faves are by polish brands (but Inglot has some stores worldwide- they have a big range of great nail enamels and eyeshadows!).

Maybelline great lash mascara in Blackest black (has the black sticker) is still the best mascara i have ever used.
i also like their eyeshadow smokey-eye quads. the colours in each range work well together, they don't clash like some quads do.
i also recently purchased their gel eyeliner which i think is a great affordable alternative!

that said, all these budget friendly makeup brands aren't as budget friendly in australia!

Honestly I deeply recommend La Roche Posay - compact powders, mascaras and lip glosses. They are cheap, good quality, sans parfum.

I was looking to see if there were any decent bargain-brand 'pen' eyeliners to replace my Chanel one, and it seems that Collection 2000 do a rather hardcore felt-tip eyeliner that, once it sets, stays on for some time. The scribbles I did with the testers on the back of my hand lasted until the next day - and through constant hand-washing - so the '24 hour' claim might have something to it.

I bought the black shade earlier today for £2.99, and applied it this evening, so I wonder how much I'll have left on my eyelids tomorrow morning... (collection2000.co.uk / beautysbadhabitblog.blogspot.com):

EXTREME 24 HOUR FELT TIP LINER
  • Be bold, bright and beautiful! The fast-drying versatile felt tipped pens give your makeup look an instant burst of colour.
  • Easy-to-apply felt tip nib for all day long lustrous looking eyes
  • Set trends with four intense, high powered hues including purple, blue, teal and black
*Not suitable for contact lens wearers

I've had some great products from the studio range at ELF cosmetics - the blusher, lip tint and brushes have all been great and they're really cheap, even cheaper in the US!

The Collection 2000 concealer should be very nice. Love the ELF Studio angled eyeliner brush for my brows!

The best pen eyeliner I've ever used (and I have tried Chanel's version) is the Smashbox one. It's roughly half the price of the Chanel, if that works (about $25 canadian dollars, I think Chanel is $40 or so?). If you're willing to try something different, I've heard great things about Maybelline's new gel liner.

Revlon Colorstay Eyeshadow's are fairly pigmented with a lovely line of colour selection to choose from. And they stay on for sometime as well. Another favorite of mine is Maybelines Full N' Soft and Falsies mascaras. F&S leans more natural although the formula is very soft on your lashes while the Falsies give you massive length and volume without the clumps.

For the face, L'Oreal True Match Liquid Foundation is a fan favorite. For a drugstore brand the colour section beats many high end foundation ranges. It's medium to high coverage depending how you apply it but I hadn't any troubles with oxidizing, breaking out or settling into pores. Bourjois blush's have their own cult following so there's not much else to add if you haven't already tried it.

And for the lips, Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss has amazing colour payoff. Smells really nice too, remeinds of icing on a cake or something :p I have one in Papaya and been wearing it constantly.
