Cropped fur (and faux) jackets

^
aris I was totally thinking of that purchase when I started this thread! I love the color of it. I also worry my vintage jacket will tear, but the lining is in great great shape, and it's actually very well put together, but one day, I see myself reaching for a coffee and splitting open the shoulder socket

On another note - I must say that this jacket is the absolute warmest I've had in a long time. I was wearing it the other day with jeans while waiting for the bus and it was such a bizarre sensation since my legs were cold from the wind but my top was toasty warm and I couldn't feel a breeze!

Aris - let us know when you get it please and fingers crossed (I'm sure you will be fine with it)

I just love this look!!!

Meg, that is the problem with the cropped jacket!, but I still preffer it short as it looks less bulky and less grand motherish, so to say, allthough I hate cropped things in general.

This is not the ideal coat - but couldn't find anything that I like better.

oh my god Aris you are so bad a** :mohawk: That first mytheresa look  So bizarre. Love all your combo's and it's definitely inspiring me to work my jacket in a different way.

And i'm kind of shocked at that williamson jacket . That is literally the exact cut of my jacket (mine is just a lighter colored rabbit fur with external buttons). I'm really going to have to take a pic asap with my jacket on and post it to substantiate this claim but seriously. wow.

and in the men's deparment it's even harder to pull a fur jacket off without looking like a pimp and I don't think anyone want to look like that. But it's even harder to find a god fur piece for men.

some examples pics 1 and 2 from style.com 3 and 4 frillr.com and 5 Scanned by Ed on modelhommes

meg, can't wait to see it!
cesarcmma, yes for man it is very difficult to pull it. The only way I liked it IRL- a friend has a hooded cashmire black jacked that is lined with a sheared /shaved/ brown Beaver fur.

just ordered this

not entirely sure about it. may have to return i think

chanel - i think it's one of those things that you will have to try on. As long as it's small enough for you I think it could be quite chic. oh and please provide credits!

Here's a funny story talking about men wearing fur. I don't know why, but my mum made my dad this massive faux fur jacket in the 70's/early 80s'. Like floor length, pimp-style and I found it in the closet one day when I was about 11 or 12 and was asking about it. Well my dad was like 'oh I forgot all about this! It's quite warm' and being the practical man he is, he wore it to a hockey game we went to that night. Can you imagine a 45 year old man wearing a coat like that - at a hockey game?! This is also from the man who likes to make his own cut off denim shorts (without hemming them).

sorry meg i forget these things as it's been so long!
muubaa.co.uk & asos.com

do you think it should be better fitting than it is on the model. i don't know. i quite like the oversized look with it?
