Cropped fur (and faux) jackets

aris I was totally thinking of that purchase when I started this thread! I love the color of it. I also worry my vintage jacket will tear, but the lining is in great great shape, and it's actually very well put together, but one day, I see myself reaching for a coffee and splitting open the shoulder socket :lol:

On another note - I must say that this jacket is the absolute warmest I've had in a long time. I was wearing it the other day with jeans while waiting for the bus and it was such a bizarre sensation since my legs were cold from the wind but my top was toasty warm and I couldn't feel a breeze!

Meg, that is the problem with the cropped jacket!, but I still preffer it short as it looks less bulky and less grand motherish, so to say, allthough I hate cropped things in general.

I think fur is really tricky because it can look bad very easyli, but well put together looks very nice.

oh my god Aris you are so bad a** :mohawk: That first mytheresa look :lol: So bizarre. Love all your combo's and it's definitely inspiring me to work my jacket in a different way.

And i'm kind of shocked at that williamson jacket :shock:. That is literally the exact cut of my jacket (mine is just a lighter colored rabbit fur with external buttons). I'm really going to have to take a pic asap with my jacket on and post it to substantiate this claim but seriously. wow.
 
and in the men's deparment it's even harder to pull a fur jacket off without looking like a pimp and I don't think anyone want to look like that. But it's even harder to find a god fur piece for men.

cesarcmma, yes for man it is very difficult to pull it. The only way I liked it IRL- a friend has a hooded cashmire black jacked that is lined with a sheared /shaved/ brown Beaver fur.

chanel - i think it's one of those things that you will have to try on. As long as it's small enough for you I think it could be quite chic. oh and please provide credits!

Here's a funny story talking about men wearing fur. I don't know why, but my mum made my dad this massive faux fur jacket in the 70's/early 80s'. Like floor length, pimp-style and I found it in the closet one day when I was about 11 or 12 and was asking about it. Well my dad was like 'oh I forgot all about this! It's quite warm' and being the practical man he is, he wore it to a hockey game we went to that night. Can you imagine a 45 year old man wearing a coat like that - at a hockey game?! This is also from the man who likes to make his own cut off denim shorts (without hemming them). :rofl:
