I love Baz so I am completely in love with the trailer. It looks so visually beautiful and I have no doubt that Carey will be amazing as Daisy.

Carey looks stunning in the trailer. If the film has one thing going for it, it's the costumes. And I think Carey's acting will be good. But from the trailer it seems like the film will be way too flashy and have no substance whatsoever. Doesn't seem like Baz quite understood what Gatsby was really about... it's not all fun and parties.

As far as we can se, in my opinion, it looks like the quintessential Baz Luhrmann film: it 's pop, "kitsch", grand, colorful... I'm really curious to see this new version of the story.
I'm sorry to say that, so far, I don't like Carey as Daisy. It's a shame because I think the rest of the cast is absolutely perfect.

Who knew Kanye/JayZ + F. Scott Fitzgerald would go so well together? I have a feeling people will either love this or hate it. It definitely won't be a generic adaption..

Whichever way this goes, at least we'll get a visual feast in the costumes to look at!

I saw Carey at Libertys today. Even more gorgeous in real life. She has the perfect English accent lol (she was talking to her friend). Didn't catch what she was wearing cause I didn't want to just stare at her like some werido. There was a coat/jacket possibly navy. Hair was clipped back.

BL's take on the 1920's isn't working for me. The movie looks like it will be a huge disappointment. While Carey may be a good actress in the movie, I still don't buy her as Daisy physically

^^5'7" is tall, Chloe24! It's three whole inches above average height for a woman (and stylists ALWAYS insist on putting tall actresses and models in platform shoes). So, yes, Carey has to be tall.

I really like the Gatsby trailer...Baz always does something that's at least visually interesting.

I would say she was around/over 5'5. I didn't see if she had heels or flats on though sorry. Definitely taller than me I'm only 5'1 lol.

Alzheimer's Society today (Monday 21 May) announces actress Carey Mulligan as its newest ambassador.

Carey attended a special event in north London being held to mark the beginning of the charity's Dementia Awareness Week™ (20 - 26 May).

Carey joined people with dementia and their carers at the 'Rest-Bite' service in Kentish Town. The Bafta-winning star has chosen to support Alzheimer's Society as her grandmother Margaret, known as Nans, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2004.

Huddersfield over 65s lunch club is no strangers to guests popping in for a free meal, but jaws dropped to the floor when Hollywood actress Carey Mulligan and husband Marcus Mumford turned up.
Joined by the rest of the band, the famous couple munched on sausage rolls and drank warm tea with around 40 pensioners at the Friday Friends lunch club, and even offered to help clean up, with Marcus grabbing a mop.
Joann Wareham, 57, project manager, said: 'They were a delight to have - it's a good job we took some pictures or I doubt many people would believe us.'

This is Carey Mulligan in Beverly Hills last Thursday. This weekend she was spotted in New York, shopping at the Bowery Whole Foods with some friends. The friends had a baby. Carey, as she is in these photos, was also wearing a very loose fitting maxi dress, described to me as more of a “giant caftan”. She seemed rather attached to the child and her friends referred to her as “Mommy Carey”. Cute nickname. Maybe she babysits a lot?

As you know, Carey and Marcus Mumford were recently married. She mentioned that she and Marcus have freed up all of January, no work. That makes sense since by then she should be finished with most of her promotional duties for The Great Gatsby. But my sources tell me she’s been trying to move things around in her schedule the early part of the new year. That would also be around the time she’d be due... IF she’s expecting right now. IF. Will keep you posted. But I’d love to see Carey work award season the way Natalie Portman did two years ago.
