Can't she stop dressing herself as if she was 20 years older?

^^ Well, maybe she can spend a few hours over at Rue Cambon with Karl- he'll fix her up!! :brows:

She looks good with eye makeup and lipstick...

She should do that...... ...cause she looks a bit to ghostly.

:innocent:

'Wouldn't you love to be in that bed' ... Carla Bruni's taunt to Sarkozy's woman minister

French First Lady Carla Bruni taunted the country’s most senior woman politician about her failure to seduce the President, an explosive new book reveals.
The former supermodel pointed at a double bed in the Elysee Palace before turning to Justice Minister Rachida Dati, who is single, and snarling: 'You'd have loved to occupy it, wouldn't you?'
The jibe by Bruni, 40, who is also a pop star, is contained in 'Carla and Nicholas - The True Story', which recounts every detail of her 80-day romance with Nicholas Sarkozy before they married in February.

Fall out: Carla Bruni (left) and Rachida Dati are said not to be on speaking terms

Mr Sarkozy, 53, was known to have been playing the field continuously before meeting Carla at a Paris dinner party last November.
It was frequently rumoured that he was having a relationship with Miss Dati, an exotic beauty from an impoverished North African background, according to the book.
It also suggests Carla, whose long list of past lovers include Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton, was well known as a 'maneater' in the French capital, and that she did everything possible to seduce Mr Sarkozy.
Carla and Miss Dati, a rising star in the government who is tipped to become France’s first woman president, have since fallen out and no longer speak.
What makes the book by respected journalists Yves Azéroual and Valérie Benaïm so remarkable is that it has been sanctioned by Carla, who is quoted throughout.
Recalling her first meeting with Mr Sarkozy - who is some almost five inches shorter than the statuesque beauty - Carla confirms it was 'love at first sight', saying: 'It was immediate, I didn’t expect him to be that funny, and so lively.

Seductress: Carla Bruni says that when she first met Nicolas Sarkozy it was love at first sight
'His physique, his charm, and his intelligence have all seduced me. He has five or six brains and is remarkably clever.
'I’ve never dated a half wit before, it’s not my style, but him, he’s very, very quick. And he’s got an incredible memory.'
In words which will infuriate many in France, Carla also underplays her official role - saying she would much rather concentrate on her music career.
She says: 'I have no intention of changing my job. I have a function, but it’s not a job. A function like mine is not a job, I inherited it with my marriage.'
Commenting on the president’s workload, Carla says: 'I’m often scared for him, it’s unimaginable how much work he does, I try to help him to look after himself.'
Referring to the ancient Greek myth of Sisyphus, a king punished by being cursed to roll a huge boulder up a hill for eternity only to watch it roll down again, Carla said Mr Sarkozy is: 'Like all of us, a bit like Sisyphus, he likes to push the rock. But he’s made of stern stuff. Three rays of sunshine and he finds life magnificent.
Carla said she helps Mr Sarkozy have a good lifestyle and estimates he will one day quit politics.
'Without him, you’re going to get bored,' she said.

The new book, which comes out today, is the first time that a French first lady has discussed her private life with the president in intimate detail.
Recalling the Paris dinner party at the home of politics PR Jacques Séguéla, Carla says: 'When I arrived, I realised that it was a blind date.
'There were three couples and the two of us, two single people. It was love at first sight.'
Despite the revelations about Carla and Miss Dati, the First Lady insists in the book that the hostility between them has nothing to do with Miss Dati also being a close friend of Mr Sarkozy’s ex-wife, Cécilia.
Because Miss Dati is still a senior minister, who meets with the president every day, Carla was unsurprisingly diplomatic with the book’s - suggesting she bore Miss Dati no ill will.
Trying to play down the spat, she even said she sent Miss Dati the addresses of two friends on Paris’s Left Bank when Miss Dati successfully stood as mayor of Paris’s upmarket VIIth arrondissement.
Referring to Miss Dati, Carla says: 'I see her frequently, she makes me smile a lot. The rumours must come from claims that she’s a friend of the ex-wife of my husband.
'But there’s no hostility between us. I sent her the two addresses of friends so she could have meetings in their apartments during the municipal campaign in the VIIth arrondissement.'
In true supermodel style, Carla uses the book to announce her mission statement to the world, making it clear that she has two priorities: 'To act globally against world poverty and to struggle against ignorance.'
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Carla’s as yet untitled third album comes out next month.
She says: 'I’m nothing more than a folk singer. I recount little stories which are no different to yours. There’s nothing subversive about it.'
Making it clear that her official role made concerts impossible, Carla said: 'All that has changed, is that I can’t tour. At least not while my husband is president of the Republic. It’s something I’ll have to get used to.'

^what a classless thing to say.
And I do wish she would shut up. She is on the cover of Paris Match every other week doing breathy interviews and photoshoots inside the Elysée Palace, and now this book? She could be a bit more subtle about her fame wh*ring...

PS: that Le Point cover is really stunning, the woman can never be faulted about her looks...

^^Thanks Marlow, I just saw that- interesting... ;)
And Harumi, I completely agree- she can be one of the great ones, but she has to shut up and be gracious now....The supermodel days and attitude are over...

France's President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife, former top-model Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, arrives to attend, on June 5 2008 at the Saint-Roch church in Paris, the funeral mass held by father Roland Letteron for fashion designer Yves Saint-Laurent. Saint Laurent, one of the 20th century's greatest couturiers, credited for revolutionising women's wardrobes, died on June 1, aged 71 of a brain tumour.

Slightly off topic but I can' t believe Le Point had the gall to put Carla and Sarkozy in such a huge cover picture and relegate YSL's passing to a footnote sized section. Shameful!!

^^ Sadly, I have to agree with you...I guess the average magazine buyer is more interested in them than in yesterday's fashion genius... :(

Carla's early days, these are mostly from '92-94.
