FRENCH First Lady Carla Bruni has made a documentary :woot: about marriage to President Nicolas Sarkozy.

The singer and ex-model, 41, who once said monogamy was boring, admits: “People can change. I was against marriage — now I’m for it.”
Carla wed Sarko, 53, in February after an 80-day romance.
But she reveals in Somebody Told Me About . . . Carla Bruni, to be screened next month, she refuses to ditch her pop career.
She insists: “I’m not going to iron my husband’s shirts for the next four years.”

Sarkozys combine business with pleasure on Brazilian tour

29 DECEMBER 2008
Such is the whirlwind nature of Carla Bruni-Sarkozy's life since being wooed and wed by President Nicolas Sarkozy, she must snatch her moments of downtime when she can.
The First Lady took advantage of her husband's recent official tour in Brazil to hit the beach, first in jogging gear with the politician, and then wearing a white bikini.
Carla, who during their visit celebrated her 41st birthday on December 23, took a dip in the surf off the palm-fringed Itacare beach north of Rio with her son Aurelien.
The mother and son playtime followed a trip to a local slum, the Pavao-Pavaozinho favela above Rio's Copacabana beach, and a reunion with her biological father Maurizio Remmert, a businessman who lives in Sao Paulo.
While her role as Premiere Dame is keeping her busy, Carla - who was voted HELLO magazine's most stylish celeb of the week - has also hit the headlines for her other job: singing. In a documentary to be shown in Britain next month the chanteuse is seen performing at the home she owns in Paris while Mr Sarkozy looks on fondly.
Former model Carla talks about her career, declaring: "No more sex, no more drugs, only rock 'n' roll" and vows she won't be giving up music to "iron my husband's shirts".

so her mom had an affair with her biological father? while married? i dont understand her situation, can someone explain please?

^Yes. I think Maurizio Remmert was 19 and Carla's mother was in her 40s?? (I just know she was much older than him). They met through music, they're both musicians. And Alberto Bruni-Tedeschi and Carla's mother were married and remained so until Alberto died some years ago.

I read that each of the other children (Valeria and Virginio) were named after their paternal grandparents in some way, Carla was not. Her grandfather was angry about this (he is often portrayed as a domineering man in the articles I've read) and pushed Alberto to name Carla accordingly but Alberto refused. I think this alludes to the fact that he already knew that Carla was not his biologically but he raised her as such. She claims she only found out about her biological father on her father (Alberto's) deathbed.

LONDON: As the love affair of French president Nicolas Sarkozy with Carla Bruni has becomes a nice colour story for the media, the Italian's ex-model's family has come under scrutiny with fresh claims that her father was millionaire Maurizio Remmert and not Italian tycoon Alberto Bruni Tedeschi.

Mr Remmert has reportedly confessed that Sarkozy's lover is his love-child, the Daily Mail reported quoting Estado newspaper.

Breaking his 40-year silence, Mr Remmert allegedly admitted that the rich heiress was the result of a secret six-year affair he had with her mother, Marisa. "I have known Carla was my daughter since she was born," he said.

The romance began in their home city of Turin in the '60s, where she was a concert pianist, while he a classical guitarist.

The business man claimed that Alberto may have been in the dark about his wife's infidelity at the time, and possibly did not suspect the baby was not his.

Mr Remmert alledged that Carla's mother broke the news when her husband was dying.

Italian author Gian Piero Bona, however, said Alberto, who died in 1996, was aware of the situation and passed on the shocking news to Carla on his deathbed.

He said Carla, whose previous conquests included rock stars Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger, was upset when she first learnt who her real father was, but then she quite took to the idea. Carla said Lady Luck had smiled on her as she had two wealthy fathers.

Daddies' girl: Carla Bruni 'said she was lucky to have two wealthy fathers'

The businessman named as the secret father of Carla Bruni ? the former supermodel now dating French President Nicolas Sarkozy ? has finally confessed that she is his love-child.

Last week, The Mail on Sunday reported how Carla was at the centre of rumours that her father was not Italian tyre tycoon Alberto Bruni Tedeschi, but another millionaire, Maurizio Remmert.
Now Mr Remmert has broken his 40-year silence to admit that Carla was indeed the result of a secret six-year affair he had with her mother, Marisa.
He says their romance began in their home city of Turin in the Sixties, where they shared a passion for music. She was a concert pianist, and he a classical guitarist.
Mr Remmert last week told the respected Estado newspaper in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he lives: "I have known Carla was my daughter since she was born, 40 years ago.
"I was 19 when I began to have relations with Marisa, a pianist, then 32. We were constantly together as musicians.
"I had a great love story with her for six years. It was not just a superficial relationship. She was married and we did not reveal that I was the father when Carla was born, in 1967.
"This story, in Turin, is well known, but by nature, we in Northern Italy are very discreet."
Mr Remmert claims Alberto may have been in the dark about his wife's infidelity at the time, and possibly did not suspect the baby was not his.
Alberto, who composed opera and collected art, certainly brought up Miss Bruni as his own, in the immense privilege his wealth secured.
She was sent to a Swiss finishing school before finding fame as a model, singer, and femme fatale, with lovers including Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton.

Mr Remmert added that Carla believed Alberto was her father, until Marisa broke the news when her husband was dying: "There was no big drama. It was revealed in a conversation between adults," he said.
However, a friend of Marisa's, Italian author Gian Piero Bona, said Alberto, who died in 1996, had long been aware of the situation ? and passed on the shocking news to Carla on his deathbed.
Mr Bona, who wrote a biography of Alberto, said: "Marisa and Maurizio had a lengthy affair ? it was the talk of Turin high society. The truth is that Marisa and Alberto had a very open marriage and they each took several lovers.

Carla Bruni and Nicolas Sarkozy seem comfortable showing affection in public

"Alberto always had an idea that Carla was not his daughter. If you look there is no resemblance at all between them."
He said Carla was "upset" when she first learned who her real father was, "but then she quite took to the idea. Carla said fate had smiled on her as she had two wealthy fathers ? both millionaires."
Last night, Marisa refused to confirm or deny any of the claims, saying: "The Presidential Palace has told me not to speak so I cannot say very much. Some things are private and should not be discussed in public.
"If Maurizio wishes to give interviews then that is up to him, but if I have had ten or 100 lovers, then that is also private and I will not discuss it. All I will say is that I'm very, very happy for Carla and you can see she is very, very happy."

There is an article about her (and Michelle Obama's) style in the February issue of US Bazaar.

She's also in a recent Time issue, with a full-page picture of her and Sarkozy by Annie Leibovitz. I can scan it, if anyone wants to see it?
