Carol Christian Poell - Designer

Size 50 (32" waist) on eBay, Buy In Now for $68. There's some other CCP on eBay right now, as well.
Aren't those the boxy-front CCP? There's a seller who's been trying to sell their pair for months now, but those pants don't look like they'll be flattering.

What pants are you posting about, Arturo?

I just realised that CCP is short for Carol Christian Poell :ninja: :ninja::ninja:

I'm not slow - I'm special

OMG!

Oh, Bakla, I was talking about the ones on Ebay that Alex posted. Not that they're bad, but other than maybe fabric and construction quality, nothing special about them. :flower:

Well, they are so called 'phallus pants' - something hes famous for.

I'll elaborate, they are from his fe-male collections, where he presents his view point on how females are treated in society in clothing.

O.K., forgive my ignorance, I had to look it up.

Quoting from HyperDictionary:

Phallus: the male organ of copulation (`member' is a euphemism)

Organ of Copulation: the act of ual procreation between a man and a woman; the man's is inserted into the woman's and excited until and ejaculation occur

Phallus is normally the erect penis. It is the Greek symbol of male power.

I was just about to say that those pants look like those old fashioned twin-pleats that bunch up at the crotch and make it look like you have a mutated-turnip between your legs.

I still don't understand. Why man power? How does that represent a female's role in society.

Sorry, I probably sound so stupid now.

I haven't noticed as much symbolism in his clothing lately.
But Poell used to be all about social/political comments in his clothing.

I kind of miss that, actually - even if his clothing is more wearable now.

Ok, Brian just explained. He loves them. :innocent:

I wouldn't like to be with a woman wearing those pants. :ninja:

To be fair, a lot of this stuff is quite unwearable anyway. I'm sure the 'phallus pants' might work on the model figure but what about a little short round woman?

I certainly wouldn't wear them. But I figured I'd post them as I recall someone mentioned liking them before, and that's a pretty good price.

CCP black dress shirt: dye washes out

I instruct my cleaner to wash and press my dress shirts by hand. This has always worked out well. However, just got a black poell dress shirt back for the the first time and the dye has washed out a bit. I was a little surprised at this in that I've had my black dior dress shirts cleaned this way several times without any washing out at all. A cautionary tale then: have your poell dry cleaned if you want to maintian the color. As it happens, I like the effect.

i think some of the shirts were made with this intention- for the color to fade out after washes... not entirely certain though.

Those are beautiful,Runner...thanks!

Is that ruching along the zipper tab? What a subtle twist to such a classic. And I love those kind...the tab-front with the crease. Alot of Belgians do them. As does some of the Austrians and I've even noticed it from a few indie's in NY. It has a good, lean shape that I enjoy.

Probably been asked before, but anywhere do CCP in London?

Did I hear a little bird say somewhere that The Pineal Eye sells CCP?
