I like chains. And I still like them on the rock/skater guys. I just think it looks stupid when worn along with spikes, zippers, studs, and grommets in one ensemble. Whoever does that needs to be whipped with a chain.

Does anybody know where the wallet chain look came from in the first place? They had a huge surge 7 or 8 years ago, but I remember my grandfather having one way before that... ?

welll i know it was big in the 50's...rock-a-billy/greasers...etc...

but even before that...it was being done by guys in the 30's who wore zoot suits...

it's partly functional and partly style...

that's all i know about where it came from...

I think that's what I'm becoming increasingly attracted to the chain belt thing, since I'm really enamoured with rock-a-billy at the moment. I've been keeping an eye out for a nice one...definitely a very cute statement, if done well. I like the look with boyish trousers too, as kimkhuu described.
