Chanel Cerf Tote

Thanks for all of the replies. I'm going to contact SF Neimens (I live in the Central Valley so I can't just pop in) and see if I can order the large tote. I guess I should have been more clear, I didn't feel I could carry the small size over my shoulder comfortably and have it rest in the position I want it to. Also even though I'm only 5' 2" I tend to like larger bags, so the larger one would be what I want anyway. The SA at Palo Alto didn't even mention to me that the bag came in two sizes, wish she had.

When I went to Neimans in Palo Alto a couple wks ago, the Chanel SA said that Neimans (and not just Palo Alto Neimans) only ordered the new cerf in the shorter size. So if you have no luck getting the larger size from Neimans SF, I would contact the SF Chanel store because they definitely carry the larger one there (I know, because I bought one there two wks or so ago).

agreed. since it's such a plain simple bag, I think you run the risk of looking dowdy or boring if you wear it with the wrong outfit. ashley olsen wore it well because she is young and dresses funky. I saw an older woman in a rumpled casual outfit (t-shirt and shorts I think?) with the black cerf and it just looked so sad and blah on her.

! I saw it and it looks fantastic. Not only would this be a great work bag but a great bag for everything. Looks like it would fit over the shoulders without any problems and over heavy coats 
.Sounds like the large bag is the one I'm looking for. I do love the understatedness of this bag, to me it suggests very good taste without screaming " I spent lots of money." I was in my 20's in the 1980's and had fun carrying all the great logo bags but I prefer quality construction and materials to logos nowdays.
i just saw the larger, original sz at neiman marcus sf the other weekend in brown...calisnoopy

i have the original cerf in black with gold CC and its an awesome bag.
very classy and classic and I'm 5'0 but it doesnt look too huge or anything

my boyfriend just gave me a chocolate brown cerf for our 2 yr annv today

. I saw the old cerf and this new one and I have to say I was speechless when I saw the new one, it's very understated, especially without the "cc" clasp and has the softest leather. Definitely a bag to own .PrincessImp.

Hmm, maybe it was what Jennifer A was wearing when she carried the new cerf but she sure made it look a little lacklustre.

. I didn't have high hopes for this bag going into the boutique, but it actually stole the show while I was there. I saw the brown with the "cc" closure which looked the size of a birkin (actually this bag is called chanel's birkin by the SA's) it was taller and shorter than the one JA is carrying in the pic. Then the SA pulled out the new cerf in black (was told it only comes in black and brown) which is shorter and longer, has no "cc" closure, although the closure is not pure silver it's more of a greyish, blackish silver and it's . If I didn't have my husband with me, I'd have walked out of the store with two bags yesterday .
