Chanel F/W 11.12 : Freja Beha Erichsen by Karl Lagerfeld

the only shots I have liked so far are the first and last in post #129
everything else is too kitschy for my taste.

it's almost like they are playing on that scene from Amelie where she goes into the
photobooth to take pictures of herself in those costumes. Idk, I'm done trying to figure out Karl and trying to make sense of this lol

Maybe Karl had some fashionable melt down half way through, took his hair down, undone his top button, tapped his rings on a table in a familiar beat, Put on some Palpitation and Ost and Kjex and then just said 'Carine, Lets do this ****!"

(BEST image in my head right now!)

I half-like the shot where you can see the stockings, but after that...

wth..................really, carine? karl is so creative and innovative..........im speechless.

I can't say that I like every image of this campaign, but I'm just satisfied that I finally see something quite different in Chanel ads. Bravo, Carine!

something tells me that carine does not find herself as big of a fan of the baptiste cameo as the photographer. i'm surprised he hasn't poked his head out of that photo booth in any of these shots B)

I never thought I'd see the day when the potential appearance of Baptiste could possibly improve a campaign, but it would at least confirm this is supposed to be a comedy, rather than a limp series of shots that are somehow much smaller than the sum of their parts, considering all the names involved in creating them.

no, but seriously....is Chanel going to ever have a press release or statement to explain this...whatever this is?

This is supposed to be an ad Roitfeld, not an ed!! And Lagerfeld, you are not cool anymore.
(but thanks both, i can't with Baptiste G.)

These are great-- such a relaxed vibe that runs throughout the series, with a strong color-palette and color-blocking. It has a late 90s The Face editorial-by-Sean Ellis feel to it...

I can't even remember any previous Chanel campaigns as they were always such a non-entity, but these ones are very impressionable-- for Chanel. The casual setting of a photobooth is hardly original, but it is a new comcept for Chanel. And Carine has done a great job. Freja is adorable with that huge smile and the wet hair. As for Baptiste, the less I see of him, the better.
