Chanel F/W 2006.07 Paris

a lot of this seems like stuff we've seen before, i don't know?

the rest of it is just kind of ho-hum. nothing amazing here.

the oversized b/w striped cardigan is kinda nice... other than that.. this is really not what i've expected from Lagerfeld... :(

It is not very Chanel-esque

a little bit of 1980s i think.:innocent:
i appreciate very much the innovative way chanel use the grand palais as a venue (in contrast to dior)!:woot:

imo the spring 06 collection is also not very chanel-esque. maybe karl just comes up with a new style for chanel? i'm not complaining.

My only problem is that the setup seemed just like spring; I wish they would have made it more dark and fall-like. I for one am liking what I see so far. I like the younger, piecier side of Chanel, and the flowing fabrics. It feels like a much more natural and flowing Chanel. I wish he would include a few more traditional pieces, but of course I'll have to see the whole collection to make a judgement.

Wow, so many models at once on the runway O_o

izabel goulart looks amazing..surprised, but very happy to see her on the chanel runway

It's ok. Not what I was expecting. How come he produces an all black collection for Gallery, for Fendi he uses extreme amounts of restraint (no tiedye) but for Chanel he goes over the top? I like some of it, but I was expecting something excellent, along the lines of his loovely Fendi collection.

well you are entitled to have an opinion .. :)

but in my opinion i thought ss06 was a mess.. only the evening wear was great..

I like how it looks wild and untamed. The dress that sasha and natasha are are really pretty.

How long was that runway! The cattle carrall was very funny. I can imagine some real tension being stuck there and not in front row.
Pointless just like the clothing.

Especially after Balenciaga and now McQueen, I'm sorry to say that Lagerfeld's attempt seems a tiny bit pathetic to me... :ninja:
