Looks like a late 80s campaign. I'm surprised by how different it is from everything Karl's been photographing in the past years, this looks almost like a lost sequence to Angela Lindvall's campaigns in the late 90s too, it's got that nostalgic, lost in time feeling to it, and the Chanel pieces couldn't look better, or more recognizable. Pretty amazing to see this I must say . I'm happy to see everyone stepping it up this season. I think we're finally starting to see the new decade beginning to take form and transform into something more solid.

Saskia's solo shot is a bit awkward, but the group shot is to die for!! I love how simple & beautiful this is. Joan is proving that she can be a Chanel girl!!!

I personally really like this campaign. It feels so fresh compared to the other ones that Chanel has had in recent seasons. A very 80's-90's vibe to it. Especially love the first shot with Joan and Saskia, it's really striking. Also, I hate to ask, but when was the last time Chanel had an African American model in an advert? Far too long I suspect.

Its been a long long time for sure. It was said that Kimora Lee did a campaign for Chanel couture when she's 13, so it was probably S/S 1988 or 1989.

So rare to see a black girl in RTW and couture ads, I dont know about cruise and pre-fall ones tho. Chanel used to have couture ad, but now they cut it.
