Chanel S/S 2019 by Karl Lagerfeld

Carine is clearly not trying...
She just cast everybody she liked, did some lazy styling and agreed on this concept...
It’s really sad to believe that she is paid to do this.

I didn’t expect something outdoor because I don’t think it’s going to happen anymore with Karl but come on! A fake cool background at least.

Carine’s laziness is really annoying..
And her styling is horrible... like really.

I expected another concept for this collection, something related to the beach

Considering that it’s going to be difficult for Karl to shoot outdoor and Carine’s laziness, it would have been hard for him to top Claudia’s SS2008 campaign...which was his last beach-themed one.

I've never liked Chanel's campaigns, that's one more to the list!

One good point: the lighting...

Chanel should go back to OG campaigns. A multi girls campaign when you have such a limited concept is totally pointless.

I have seen so many lookbooks that seem much more expensive and refined than this.

Waiting for Zara to see something good. Who would have thought that?

The only thing Karl and Carine haven’t done. They should transfer their fees to charity, it’s obscene these people are getting paid for this trash.

What a sad campaign. I absolutely hate the gray background. I wish it was white, at least. To make it less worse.
Not even a good cast/variety of stunning girls could save this.

They look like Japanese fishmen on the first shot then dull widows. Why Chanel's rtw campaign have to be so boring

I wonder if the other girls will have solo shots?
So far, I've only seen Hyunji.

And the fact that Adut is a Chanel bride and closed the S/S 19 show but only has a pre-fall campaign is just...

Designers needs to take some control back in the cast of their campaigns...

Never in Chanel history, i’ve seen such an insane line up of girls each season than when Carine arrived.

She killed the prestige of those campaigns. Imagine shooting in front of a boring background, doing no poses and being with 6 other girls...Cool!

Surely Karl must know that one of Chanel's major visual strengths is a vibrant, lively setting. That much can be gathered by all the effort he pours into his runway presentations. It's just odd to see how neither of them care for campaigns, which will probably have more longevity than the runway show. Fashion people will know the setting of Chanel's runway shows, but everyone will only refer to a campaign which they saw on a magazine or on Instagram.

The last real thematic campaign was for the Chanel/Cuba collection, and even that was somewhat tame.
