Charlene Wittstock, Princess of Monaco

I would love to own this necklace by Van Cleef & Arpels:blush:, but it was special made for her, right?

^yes, a gift from Prince Albert. Such a gorgeous piece.
She looks absolutely stunning, the color looks wonderful on her.

Charlene looks very marvellous :flower:

The dress is boring and repetitive. It's borderline ugly....I was hoping she'd take a couple of risks. Guess not!

^ That dress does nothing for her bustline, which we know from her swimsuit pictures, is perfectly nice...

I really don't like those type of dresses on her. They do nothing for her figure IMO. But she looked great and had the best accessories. The colour is also very nice.

the dress is ok but did they do her make up in the dark?, it even looks like they left some white powder on her jaw, right hand side.

I love her hair and necklace, but not the dress. Well, I should clarify. I like the dress on the Bergdorf model but not on her. Her tan clashes with the colour and makes it look cheap and tacky. I think if she weren't tanned, the dress would look okay on her though.

Whoever is doing her makeup needs to fired asap. It's sloppily done. The color of her dress is beautiful though.

Possibly she obtained the white powder smudge when giving a guest one of those society cheek-to cheek air kisses. She could have brushed her face against with someone’s face with a lighter shade of foundation.

I agree about the make-up! She is so naturally beautiful, the bad makeup job seriously detracts.

If it hasn't been for all the surgery work she has done in her face, she would be ugly, as her face used to be originally.
About fashion choices: boring. Always wearing strapless dresses, the Red Cross one has a beautiful color, but it doesn't work on her.
I never found her elegant either.

I don't think I've ever seen any pics of Charlene, pre-plastic surgery. How drastically has she altered her face?

Charlene seems to be damned if she does, damned if she doesn't fashion-wise. She did admit in her Vogue interview to not being natural at fashion, which may be one reason why she plays it safe. Another is, she has to contend with the memory of her mostly fashionable late mother-in-law and having a stylish sister-in-law, both of whom have very signature, recognizable styles. (I do think Grace deserves her status as a style icon, but she made many rather bizarre and frumpy, unflattering choices 1975-1980.)

Once upon a time, Sophie Wessex was deemed boring and safe too. Now, she is considered the most fashionable Windsor. She didn't start experimenting until after she married Edward either, so I think there is still hope for Charlene to only improve.
