Charlene Wittstock, Princess of Monaco

Forgot to add, now having seen the pre-plastic surgery pic, I don't think she looks that different. As someone said, the plastic surgery was subtle. And I think she's quite beautiful with or without the plastic surgery.

"Charlene has the best royal wardrobe"???? seriously....
I can pick many other royal members who dress much better than her: Rania of Jordan, Mary of Denmark, Carolina, Kate and even Matte-Marrit!
Of course Charlene is not ugly, but I don't like her plastic face and her style is most of the times so boring and repetitive. I can't find a look that blowed me away!

Did you read my post? Seriously ;)

I said, as Ciao!Manhattan also points out, that Charlene has one of the best royal wardrobes. As in her clothes are to die for. The clothes, not her style per se. She is obviously a beginner and makes mistakes from time to time. It seems she's getting help from time to time - I don't know if she's got a full time stylist like for instance Mary has. Her style btw was quite bad before she got a taxpayer funded makeover. It seems to be the way royals do things these days..

The blue dress at the Amfar gala is heaven, imo. And the sandals she wore with that casual outfit are awesome too.
What I like about her, is that she takes a risk. She doesn't play it safe, like Maxima doesn't play it safe with colors and Mary always looks fashionable. Kate and all the others can be so beige, for lack of another word.

Couldn't agree with you more - I think Charlene is doing very well indeed and showing great promise. Some of her looks have been breathtaking - such as the Amfar dress and that on the post-wedding brunch.

Kate often looks like she just does not want to get it wrong - hardly the philosophy of a style icon.

La Vanille, is this the post wedding brunch dress? I don't think that it is breathtaking. It is an example of getting it wrong. However, this dress is lovely:

These two dresses are an example of Charlene's hit and miss with fashion. Charlene is improving all the time and I do like her hair styles. Her hair is not thick but her hairstylist always make it look full, different styles all the time that compliment her face and her attire.

I think I'm the only person who doesn't like her wedding reception dress. I've tried, but I just don't see what everybody loves about it (and I usually like the layered ruffle gowns too).

Maybe there are so many positive responses to the wedding reception dress because this dress is different, it has her shoulders partially covered up. This dress flatters her body type and minimizes her broad houlders. It is a refreshing change from her typical dress style, halter top, strapless, one sided strap, off the shoulder......It almost gives her an hour-glass figure, unlike the wedding brunch dress that makes her look top heavy with too-slim hips. That dress is wrong.

Is it an old rule - do not wear black during the summer? I understand that in France women wear black for the evening wear year round, but what about during the day? I'm suprised to see Charlene wearing a black dress during the day, and it's August. Strapless again.

I've never heard about that rule. Anyway, I don't like the shoes but she looks great, a little too safe though maybe.

If I recall correctly, the event happened during the early evening hours. :flower:

As for her style, she is definitely playing it safe. Hopefully, she'll take some risks with her choices in the future.

I must have been living under a rock these past years, as I had no idea - and was genuinely surprised - about the plastic surgery issue. The work seems irrefutable and has made a huge difference to her appearance.

Charlene's black dress is demure and lovely, it's only a shame that her smile never reaches her eyes.

Yes that explains wearing black; the event took place in the early evening, and she does look elegant. I have noticed that her hair styles are always different and quite nice, flattering. Simple jewelry too. Except for the fact that she is again s-t-r-a-p-l-e-s-s

Princess Charlene attended the Yorkshire Variety Club Golden Ball in Leeds, U.K. I'm not sure about the color of the dress; it washes her out. :flower:
