Charlene Wittstock, Princess of Monaco

Becaue of her engagement, she is now in the position of potential criticism no matter what she wears. Look at the dress that Caroline wore to the same event.
Very beautiful, but also reminiscent of a negligée. What if Charlene wore this? Caroline carried it off very well, but if Charlene wore it......

I agree with you,for most people no matter how Caroline is dressed, sometimes very unflattering imo,she always looks great why? but
if Charlene dresses, she is always criticized ,and following this topic about elegance,I think Charlene is getting dressed each time better imo,and on the contrary,Caroline has lost her glamour and elegance in recent years imo,she is always dressed in black and not glamorous at all imo:angry:

Stunning and glamorous!

You are being way too nice. ;)

Poor thing. The cover is hideous and should be added to the Photoshop Disaster discussion.

The jewels and faux coat are lovely on her, but the Sharon Stone tightly pulled back hair, ala Casino, doesn't nothing for Charlene.

Less severe clothing and soft hair looks best on her. :)

i think she looks nice though, very royal with the pose and jewelry

Charlene looks great! Much better. :flower:

^ She looks much better here, a lot softer in the face and the outfit is appriopraite. I hope she keeps it up.

I dislike this coat, and I prefer her less natural and more sophisticated.

^ "Charlene Glides around her future marital home with ease" Yeah, I bet she does!
This whole magazine editorial makes me queasy. First, I can't believe they tried to recreate the staircase photo from when Grace did it. Second, who lounges by the pool wearing a ball gown and 5 million dollars worth of jewels?! (Oh I forgot, Charlene does...:innocent:) Third, the picture of her in the Salon, lounging seductively on chairs that have probably been around for hundreds of years and knowing all of the significance of the room alone and all that has taken place there... I can just see Grace now popping down from heaven shouting angrily at Charlene saying "get off my chairs! Get off my chairs!" And the fourth, well that speaks all by itself. She might as well be eating bon bons in her robe and reading a trashy magazine.
This whole spread is so egotistical, degrading and undermines the Monegasque Royal family immensely. I can't believe Albert really approved this, to show his future bride off like a show pony that, by the looks of it, thinks she is the creme de la creme. Which she is not. This is beyond "deguelasse."

And she almost had me back in her corner with the last outfit....

The poses are over the top. The photos look like a fashion photo shoot. Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie have done numerous fashion photo shoots for magazine publications over the years. It was always obvious that the purpose of their fashion shoot was just that, a fashion spread in a magazine. Here, the palace is introducing their new princess to the world, IMO an unfortunate choice of poses. These images, photos, poses would look more appropriate in a vacation advertisement for travel to Monaco, with an anonymous model. Images of an aloof glamorous woman dripping in diamonds, dressed in haute couture work well in an advertisement for Monte Carlo. Despite the best advisors, fashion consultants and PR people, sadly the palace missed their mark. I don’t blame Charlene; she is new to all of this and probably took unfortunate advice. Remember, she has spent a large portion of her life wearing a swimsuit and athletic clothes, while pursuing an Olympic goal. Now she has to learn to be a stylish princess. Not easy.

I understand what you're saying about Charlene taking poor advice from advisors, Albert, stylists etc. But by no means is she new to this game. She has been dating the heir to the thrown for four years and by that has attended numerous balls, charity functions etc. She has also willingly gotten plastic surgery and changed her look and additude drastically to appeal as what she thinks the next "princess" of monaco should be.

This was an unfortunate photo shoot like you said and Charlene probably was ill advised to do it, but at the end of the day she said yes and she posed for the photos. So she only has herself to blame for the backlash.

She looks stunning in all pics, specially at the staircase....
She looks like a real princess....I think Monaco needs this glamour that has disappeared imo, when Grace died.....

this cloth from daylife reminds me a lot to the cloth of Grace´s engagement dress
