We live in a world made up by pretty, fit and toned postars. Jessica Simpson, Lindsey Lohan, Nicole Richie, Jennifer Aniston, Ashley & Mary-Kate, Sienna Miller - the style icons of today are pretty much all the same and created to fit a special MTV market. Someone like Chloe Sevigny can't compete with that in any way. As so many people like to say: she's not "pretty", she's "ugly". That she dresses cool, has a cool personality, interesting things to say, is involved in interesting projects and other things like that doesn't really change that. 'Cause she's not 'pretty' and she doesn't follow the trends and she takes many chances in the way she dresses instead of just wearing 'pretty' dresses, skinny jeans and high boots.
I personally think she's interesting and I love that she dares to be 'out-there' even though it's not always perfect. It's fun to watch someone with the guts to try new things.
"She's trying too hard to be cool" someone said which is quite interesting considering the amount of time, money and effort the MTV stars of today (for example those I mentioned in the beginning) put on their image. If that's not trying to hard then I don't know what is. (?) (Don't get me wrong, I really like some of their styles also but it's just boring when EVERYONE starts to look the same)

Beautifully said, i couldn't agree more. The MTV blonde IS boring. Chloe experiments and steps outside of the box and shows us that the blonde bimbo act isn't the only show in town. She's brilliant, intelligent and IMO, incredibly stylish. I fawn over her style! Yes occassionally you are like... what? but haven't we ALL stepped out of our front door looking like a state? there is something quite mesmerising about Chloe and part of that is her unconventional beauty. She is not ugly. Ergh i hate that word anyway. Ugly should be a word for the state of the mind not the way someone looks.. we are all beautiful in our own way, its just that we are bombarded with the MTV stereotypical beauty that quite honestly is pretty bland. We need more people like Chloe to represent what REAL women should look like. She's brilliant. Anyway i think that i have kissed her backside enough for today !! x

Style is not just a physical attribute; style stems from one's attitude and personality! Clearly, Chloe is a different sort of person from most bland celebs--and I like that.

I also appreciate her adventurous spirit! Life is about taking chances, figuring things our for ourselves, making mistakes. As such, stylists, image consultants, et al. take the thinking, and ultimately, LIVING,out of what most celebs do. If we all had people to tell us what to do, there would be very little creativity and diversity. In fact, just from an ecological perspective, diversity is what the world needs to survive and continue.

I just read an interview with her and she seems really funny.
She says she hates reading gossip mags 'cause they're trash but admits they are addicting. She also said most of the stuff she reads about her friends is true too...

I love Chloe. She's incredibly talented (aghem... Brown Bunny WAS questionable though!) and even though some of her wardrobe choices are... questionable? most of the things she wears come across as uniquely her own, and like she is wearing stuff for her and not anyone else (not trying to impress/follow trends), and for that reason I like her. She's just on her own and weather you like her or not-- she doesn't care.
