Chloe 'Silverado' Bag

I think these are two very different bags. But as far as I'm concerned, they seem equally high maintenance. I own two Balenciagas (small white, medium seafoam) and I love these bags but they get dirty easily (esp the corners of the bag), the scratches show on the seafoam, the leather isn't durable enough for me (I worry when I put a notebook in my medium seafoam). But despite all that, I still love my bags!

I had the chance to buy the beige python silverado but I didn't like the non-python leather part because it's the type of leather that shows every little scratch. I was inspecting a new bag that had never been displayed, fresh out of the box and there were tons of visible scratches. But I still want to buy this bag, preferably in royal blue which is going to be sold in only a few of the Chloe boutiques.

Just checked on BG and both the med and large Natural Python Silverados are gone. I'm glad I pre-ordered the medium but now I'm second guessing myself, wondering if I should have pre-ordered the large. I'm 5'7" so I can carry off large bags (currently carrying the D bag by Donna Karan - http://www.eluxury.com/browse/product_detail.jhtml?styleid=10576839&SectionID=9000 )

I'm also second guessing the color..ugh! I'm afraid that I'll get it and hate it, wishing I instead put myself on the waiting list for the new brown that's coming out

I never in a million years did I think I'd be sitting here today freaking out over the color and size of a purse :eek:

I've been having problems with my machine, so haven't posted lately, but as soon as I got back on, I went straight to my favorite thread :-) When I bought my brown python Silverado, I tried out the large and medium. Since I'm 5'2" I went with the medium, but I think most people could carry off the large as well, especially if you're like me and use it to carry all of your "stuff." Even though I have the brown python, I was really tempted by the natural for spring, but opted to go on the waitlist for the Paddington, so as to have something a little different. We're all counting the days until March when we get the call

They are so gorgeous, especially in the dark brown colours...I am loving them and believe they will be another classic...

Personall I think this bag is a seasonal bag. Besides, minimalism returns next season (meaning Fall/05).

Maybe I'm just a diehard individualist, but personally I really don't care if this bag is deemed in, out, seasonal, or relegated to the planet Pluto by the fashion gods...I love it, it looks great, and it fits my needs; consequently, I'm a relatively happy quasi-fashionista. FWIW.

Most of the times I end up getting a bag because I love it and I do believe you have to, since more often than not, those bags are so expensive.

If we keep worrying about whether a bag is seasonal or not, I think it does take the joy out of owning a good bag. More often than not, I believe that innate good taste and intuition will tell us if the bag is worthy of our loving.

and i agree with this, completely...i love the Balenciaga motorcycle bag, i have a medium indigo and am planning on buying two more, and i wouldnt care if i woke up tomorrow and they were called the most dated, out bags that exsisted-i love mine and thats all that matters. i cant imagine liking one of my bags but putting it away and not carrying it anymore because i read in a magazine that its "not in anymore".

Chloe NYC

I talked to the Chloe NYC store this morning ,and they said their store will receive the medium in pink and brown and the large in brown, gold and green.

I know that Bergdorf is getting the Silverado in Natural Diamond and green.
The brown is really hard to get... the medium in gold costs around USD$2150....

I have the brown one in large, it really is large but perfect for fitting everything in it. My other bags haven't been out in weeks, the silverado wins hands down, its beautiful and fits all I need in it! The medium looks big enough too! Whether its bag of the season or not I'll love it whatever!

harvey nics is getting the large python in brown but it's slightly different. i believe monaco will be getting the large python in brown too but they have also confirmed that its a different brown... if you wanna call paris or monaco you can ask if the new chocolat is the same as the color of fall 2004... sometimes they call it marron.

I went into Aldo the other day and saw the ugliest knockoff of this Chloe bag in brown...I loved this bag and it just ruined it for me!

Brown is also completely sold out in Germanys boutique in Munich. They do carry it in natural and black phyton but guess what. I so desperately wanted it in gold and it is not produced for continental Europe. So maybe i got better luck back home in Dubai ;-( Or i have to order via neiman marcus if they send overseas (does anyone know?)
