as far as i know, the origial brown color has long been sold out, unless maybe you can find a used one on ebay.

there is a dark brown coming out for summer 2005 (available starting march) which will only be available in the large size ($2460).

the Chloe SA said that this would be a darker brown than the original one, but I have not seen any pictures of it, so I have no idea what it will be like in comparison.

Here's a pic of the bag I took in natural sunlight before I returned it. Not sure if that gives you any better idea of the color. It's not really shiny. Somewhat matte...but it's definitely a metallic gold.

Just not my style at all, I don't like snakeskin bags though or even snakeskin prints.

They remind me too much of the glam rock 80's bands that my older family members liked when I was little.

Should I get it in the large size or the medium size?

Hi instyle. The Chloe SA was wrong. They are definitely introducing a dark brown (they call it chocolate, slightly darker than the brown of last season) in all sizes for next season. I know this for a fact, because two Chloe boutiques and two multi-label stores that carry Chloe have confirmed it. Maybe in that particular store you asked, they aren't carrying the brown in all sizes, but I know it will come in small, medium and large in several stores.

Ps. I love the large size! I like it as much as the medium!

I was thinking about buying the balenciaga bag, but I was very disappointed when I saw how thin the leather is. It looked like the bag was going to be damaged quite easily. I saw the chloé bag too, and it looked to me quite stronger. So now I wonder: should I buy the chloé instead? It's true that I slightly prefer the balenciaga. So I thought that maybe someone here has both and can honestly tell me something about their quality. Is the balenciaga resistant or not? I will have to choose, I can't afford both. Thanks a lot!

I think these are two very different bags. But as far as I'm concerned, they seem equally high maintenance. I own two Balenciagas (small white, medium seafoam) and I love these bags but they get dirty easily (esp the corners of the bag), the scratches show on the seafoam, the leather isn't durable enough for me (I worry when I put a notebook in my medium seafoam). But despite all that, I still love my bags!

I had the chance to buy the beige python silverado but I didn't like the non-python leather part because it's the type of leather that shows every little scratch. I was inspecting a new bag that had never been displayed, fresh out of the box and there were tons of visible scratches. But I still want to buy this bag, preferably in royal blue which is going to be sold in only a few of the Chloe boutiques.

I am now debating between a medium Silverado (finally decided on the size) and the Paddington.

I like both and I think both are good shoulder bags and should let me lug around my stuff for daily usage.

But I can only afford one... So guys, may I have your advice on which is better?????

^^ I have the same problem!! Should I get the silverado (if I can still find one!) or the Paddington?? Right now, I want the paddington just a tad more because I love the padlock to it..and I think the silverado is gonna be a bag everyone will be carrying as in replicas as well..

I seriously doubt a replica could come close to being what the silverado is - a classy, stylish bag. There's no way a counterfeit outfit could replicate accurately the python skin so I doubt the python silverado will be mass produced as a counterfeit.

I just pre-ordered the natural python through BG and don't know how I'm going to survive without it until May!!! I may have to call Balenciaga tomorrow and get on their waitlist for the city classique so I have something new before May

I have been bugging the Chloe boutique for the Silverado in brown.

I think I will leave it to Fate, if the Silverado arrives before the Paddington I will get the Silverado.
Especially if I can get my paws on the brown one...

There is really no logical way to make a decision on this!

Joiseygirl - I know any knockoff of the silverado will definitely not compare to the real thing..but it wont stop places from churning out fakes.

It took me forever to decide whether to get on the waitlist for the medium or large... it got to the point where I would call the Chloe SA every other day and ask her whether she really thought the large (or medium) one would be fine for me. She was so patient, and really played into my obsession. She advised me to get pieces of paper and create a makeshift bag with the exact dimensions, so I could get an idea of how they would look on my body... so I actually taped and stapled together "medium" and "large" size "Chloe Silverado" paper bags, complete with handles!!!!

As if that were not enough, I called every store in NYC (Bergdorf, Henri Bendel, Neiman, Saks) who carried the bag and asked every SA I spoke to whether they thought the medium or large would be better...

I think I am at peace with my decision on the large now... it's just a matter of waiting till March when they get it in. I don't know how I can wait that long...

You are probably right... she probably meant that they were only getting the Large Chocolate Brown Python Silverado, in that particular store.

I think you are probably not the first to have "bugged" the Chloe SA that way about the sizes too.
I was following the same path you went through for the past 3 days.

But I think I will settle for the medium first.
I have big bags in my collection but I can't fill them up and I hardly use them.
I feel that it is such a waste on my part!!

So, the medium it shall be for me..
