Chloe 'Silverado' Bag

I believe all of the laws regarding python restrict importation or distribution of products made with the skin, so they apply to stores and manufacturers, not consumers. thus, for example, neiman marcus in california cannot carry python skin products, but I am free to get one from another state and I am free to carry one in california. so don't worry -- you won't get stopped for your python purse (unless, of course, it has a gun inside).

A gun??

LMAO!!! ok.. i'll try not to bring it with me..:ninja:

Thanks so much LilyGirl, that really helped!

It is weird though... sometimes in airports you see snakeskin items locked up... you know what i mean?

In a kinda glass locker for everyone to see, like it has been taken away, becaus it is an indangered species.

But i think you are a clever lady, and know what you are saying so i guess i shoulden't worry, i don't really have a clue just wnated to make sure..

Thanks so much!:heart::flower: karma!

Edit: must spread some reputation before giving it to LilyGirl again.:p

Has anyone of you ever travelled through customs in a country where phyton skin is illigal?

I mean... what would they actually do? take the bag away? I am quite worried about my bag because you can quite easily see that it is phyton.. it's the neautral.

Could i say that it's not real? :ninja:

I heard that thay can take away snakeskin items like boots, etc, and yopu can end up getting a fiend for it. (sp?).

Any feedback on the matter would be appreciated.

TIA. :flower:

I had the exact same worry :D Thanks for clarifying LilyGirl :flower:

you are sweet pucci:flower:

as for the python issue, I'm no expert and I know nothing about international law. I would be very surprised if customs would care about a handbag -- they're really looking for people who seem like importers/exporters (i.e., carrying numerous bags or skins). on the other hand, I would imagine that if you had a handbag made out of a whole cat (I know, gross, but I was trying to come up with an obvious example), customs might stop you. I don't know why, but I think customs officials have a lot of leeway to stop anyone carrying something weird or suspicious (especially these days). if you're traveling internationally (particularly to or from a third-world country that might have a high incidence of animal skin smuggling), you may want to pack your bag, just to be safe. and on a practical level, I wouldn't carry that light colored bag on a plane and subject it to dirty x-ray machines and nasty airplane floors!

as I said to pucci, remember that I only know about california and traveling within the US -- I really don't know about international travel. please do some research about the countries you are traveling from and to -- they make the rules about what is allowed to leave or enter their country.

My worry was about California especifically :D

I don't know if anyone already mentioned this, but NeimanMarcus.com has the small rose/red python Silverado on their site right now.

also, what colors are available for fall and winter? (sorry, if this has been asked before...thread so long and my husband will be home any sec...)

PYTHON
Silver
Bronze
Indigo blue
Red
Caramel
Some shade of green (mentioned in an earlier thread...)
Some shade of Brown (lighter brown on Python, darker brown on leather combination)
Grey (as per Chloe's website but yet to hit the stores, I think...)

LEATHER
Tan
Chocolate brown
Grey
Red

Have fun considering the colours...:p

The Bronze seems to be more popular with stockists. Stores seem to stock the Bronze ahead of the Silver and replenishing the Bronze stock more often... :)

Just got my Large Silver Python..staring at it as I'm typing...
I am so in looooooove :heart:heart:!!!!
The bag is even more gorgeous IRL. I'm so glad I held out on the Bronze. The silver python skin is totally matte. The brown shades on the python skin enhances the bag beautifully. The brown leather is lighter than the Bronze's leather, more of a yellowish brown tone than the Bronze's reddish brown tone. In comparison on the leather alone, the Bronze's is more gorgeous with its chocolate richness. But in totality, the Silver is simply fab!!!
My heart is still thumping from the beauty of it...

BUT there is one major setback due to my friend's ignorance with the appropriate packing method of such a fragile, exotic bag. He removed the stuffing from the bag and simply stuffed it into his suitcase!!!!!
My major discontent is with the major scratches on the brown leather!!! Like its been used for a bit!!! I understand that scratches are unavoidable with that type of leather and also it's a dark colour...but to have a brand new bag with scratches...that's totally upsetting!!
My heart literally broke at the sight of the scratches...
:cry::shock::cry::blink: :cry:

Although I am so so very happy with the bag, I'm also very upset with the scratches. Guess that's the risk one takes when getting someone who lacks the same passion for a favour...:( Also, it was the last one in the store, so...
As he was kind enough to insist on searching for the bag, it's quite unreasonable for me to be upset with him. It's very challenging to remain calm as one would certainly expect such a purchase to be in its most perfect state! Thank goodness for this forum where I can lament my total dissatisfaction and move on... ^_^

For whatever it's worth, every single silverado (python AND leather) I've seen in the boutiques has had some scratches. Not one exception. It was probably like that even when it was at the store.

White leather silverados available on neimanmarcus.com now. Didn't know they were offered in this color for the fall.

Thanks, Taitai...I'm feeling more pacified now... ^_^ Will definitely overlook the scratches and enjoy the bag. Once I debut Sylvie (calling the bag that...), I may not feel so angst about the scratches as the "pristine state" expectations will diminish with each use... :p
