Christian Dior Resort 2009 New York

I don't like the collection at the minute, but it is growing on me.
The only thing I like is the hair, and the bag shapes have also been in F/W 0809
I do not get the background either. Sasha looks amazing :buzz:

I think some designs are okay, but I love the styling :woot:

This whole theme has been done so many times before, but nonetheless it's a really nice collection! The clothes are so intricate in detailing and sillouhette.....

Hmmm, now I wonder if there were any falls or mishaps of any sort lol...

....

it's not chic, it's not sophisticated, it's not insane.

what is he doing???

Has Galliano in fact lost his creative spirit or is he *trying* to get fired from Dior for some financial reason? I'm confused.

i doubt he'll get fired for financial reasons. as far as i heard, the Dior business seems to running well.

Some dresses are nice, but for me textile is awful and the hole idea of this collection seems to be tracky.
He can`t stop now, can he? Despite of worldwide opinion — John needs deep, really deep breath.

Although Galliano is a great designer I've to say that I don't like this new collection. The idea is so tacky, besides I don't like most of the pieces. The catwalk has a 60's, mexican and colorful influence. Bags are not good, but I think it's one of the worst points in Galliano, he doesn'd do good bags... The gowns are just horrible!!! Too much. He has wanted to join and mix in a same collection everythig and here we have the result...
I wonder if Galliano could do somethig so exiciting as ss07...
Galliano is not in his best time. I remember aw09 was disappointing too...

Lookig forwad to seeing Chanel...

I think every show Galliano has ever done has looked at least bit tacky...so this is not an exception...however, most of his pieces styled bit differently look really nice and so these. I can see many of these designs worn with more subtle pieces. although... I do hate these striped pants

The real showpiece is what the designer is wearing. Everything else look like some unknown designer's work.

A tell-tale sign that this is really bad...this thread is only 6 pages:ninja:

^ That really isn't fair though because Steven was around for a couple of these lackluster and unimaginative collections (s/s 07 RTW comes to mind).

This is totally a corporate thing. He's giving the bosses what they want, or at least what they think they want, in the hopes that they'll realize that it's ruining Dior. Either that or he's given up fighting.

I don't really think Galliano is always doing tacky things. I think it's nos good to confuse tacky with outlandish. He has done some of the best catwalks I've ever seen, but as I said I think he's not in his best time...

May be Spike is right, I think it would be necessary a change, Galliano needs to desappiar from Dior, because he has just have his name engraved in the history of fashion and I don't want him to continue in Dior, because Arnault is restricting his imagination.

Money, money, money... They want money. But we want fashion, we want to feel fashion!!! We'll have to wait for HC and see if that changes...

Well, I was SO amazing til HC SS07. Macabre, beautiful, weird, but never boring and as tacky as now :/

i don't know what to say. john looks good though. much better than the models.

It isn't fair to say it's Steven's death, because...well...look at his own label! It's been exploding with energy for the past year and that's without Steven. So...Galliano's creativity did not die with Steven.

Like Spike said, this is all corporate. For all of you who say Dior needs a new designer, I say Dior needs a new exec.:innocent:

I feel like he is trying to design for an older customer who has no sense of style. Everything seems gaudy and not in a good way
