Christian Dior Resort 2009 New York

Gorgeous hair and make-up (very Maria Felix and Dolores del Rio circa 60's) but it isn't about that at all.
Some of the pieces are really pretty, but it seems like we have really seen this already. I have to agree Dior Cruise is the same since last year. We'll have to wait 'til couture and hope things seems better then.

It's very colorful. But his inspiration is so all over the place. Southern belle, safari, prom night, 80's, bohemian... It's fun, but it's like- WTF?

Wow John did bring the cheapness to the next level.

I felt I was food poisoned  when I saw the collection.

It was quite a punch at my stomach.

I wonder what was Galliano thinking of when he did this collection. The more I look at it, the more I disappoint. Horrible!!

....i doubt he'll get fired for financial reasons. as far as i heard, the Dior business seems to running well.

What I meant originally was that perhaps there is some sort of lucrative buy-out for Galliano in his contract if they were to part ways. I'm not saying that this makes any sense, but I'm just trying to think of some rational explanation for this collection! :p

I had thought about Steven's death as a possible reason as well, but as pointed out here, the timing just doesn't line up.

Maybe it's the constant financial stress to keep Dior commercially viable? I just keep feeling like something must be happening behind the scenes that we don't know about.

Hahahahh ... I do kinda get the "Priscilla, Queen (...)" reference ... but I think this is worst ... like a copy of "Priscilla" ... Its more "To Wong Foo" ... all it needed is Wesley Snipes as Noxema Jackson to close the show!

Yes, Steven Robison's death has been fatal for him. He was warking with Galliano since he was only 17... I hoped him to become a famous desginer because it is well known that many people say that he had a lot of merits in Galliano's collections...

My reasons to explain this disaster are: Steven's death, Arnault who I think restricts his imagination, that we're talking about cruise collection (althoug it's never a excuse) which as we know they are never as good as a normal rtw collection, though it is possible to, but normally they are worse (the same as prefalls...) and money, of course. He has to do comercial collections... Damned money!

Well, I'll be totally honest-- I am TIRED of this theme. I really like a few of the pieces, especially very end and very middle-- but I can't understand the rest of it. I know that fashion is supposedly going in a direction of older resurgence, but going back to the 60's for inspiration in this style just doesn't feel right. I hope it's a phase, dearly, I'm disappointed. :(

This would have been a lot better if John hadn't done it for the past 82746 seasons...

I do love the set and some of the big gowns towards the end, however.

I want Galliano to strip Dior back down again to it's absolute bones....wipe the make up off, climb down from the platforms, shake the hair out and look something like this again...

So what about the video? I could be wrong here but I thought the turn around was like two days right?
