Christian Dior S/S 2007 Paris

I have to agree...

As great as this still is, I would have loved to see something really exciting. Those are the kinds of shows that I remember..

And the music wasn't done very creatively, unfortunately. That is one of my favorite parts of any show too.

And, might as well ask here...

Can someone upload the video please? :)

i agree. it's a little too blatant and literal (back to basics) for his collection. but as most have said, this is superb! it has that feeling and spirit that his earliest collections for dior had. i love it!

^ All in all that pretty much sums up my feelings.

Yes, same here. and it is interesting that this is the outfit he wore when he started out. Does this mean that he's brought Dior all this way - through these wonderful inspiring collections back to where it was in 1995. Why would he even do that, because he's leaving? To ground Dior back to a certain fraction of its clientele? Or to enhance the brilliance of past collections?

He has not just rid his usual collections of the gimmicks (such as last year's bandanas, and the make-up which was a lot more goth than Axl Rose and reminescent of more obscure artists), but he has removed the charge, the bold elegance along with the props. Besides, I love a show and the blatant references, it is definitely one of my favourite seasonal mood enhancers

As for Galliano never winning, well, you've got people who like conservative outfits and people who like his excesses. I think it's true in general that the people who like his previous work have a hard time liking this (with some exceptions) while the crowd that usually don't like his stuff like this. It all makes sense, really...

the whole show looks BCBG to me... is time for him to go... move on to Mugler or something...

i totally love this collection.everything is so beautiful and elegant.i love the dresses and shoes!!they drive me crazy!!!john is just so talented!

I like these dresses, but I LOVE the shoes!! And the colours are all fantastic.

Although I really was expecting a collection with more of a POW like he usually does :(. Something exciting and dreamlike, something you'd look at and know it was a Galliano. And we'd still love it to bits!

Don't hold back, Johnny! :P

have to say.. i haven't liked dior for a long time and now.. i'm in love

Imo, the suits are matronly..I don't like the collection at all. I haven't liked Dior for quite some time. :ninja:

the sad thing is i will lose 2 more exciting anticipations annually if he is going to continue with simple wearablity for pret a porter.
btw, i think he has been dragging this "nude" look for a few collections in terms of colours and silhouettes

What I missed most in the presentation was posing models... what's a Dior show without great posing!?

I think that the subdued and approachable collection he did for Dior means only good news for all the exuberance Galliano has left in him to put in the Galliano show tonight... not to mention the couture show coming January, which will mark his tenth year anniversary at Dior couture. If he doesn't go all out there, then I am a puzzled man.

OH MY GOD MR DALE...A Big hug for mentioning about gallinao show tonight
i had been just waiting for dior show and forgetting about galliano...
IT"S TONIGHT......i hope he comes out with a very drag queen show

^^Thanks, I was waitin´...^
I wish it was well made...
