Christian Dior S/S 2007 Paris

I don't get the fuss over this. The dresses are nice and would be incredible had he chose different colors and fabrics. The jackets seem dated and the shoes weren't executed well.

I will forget about this collection quickly, though. His shows are nothing w/o the theatrics.

its nice to know that im faster than getty and yahoo! haha

oh yes and thanks for the all pieces of information :)
the collection is quite charming ^_^

im a little Dissipointed with everyone else doing Beige i thought he would do something a little wild i expected something super sexy after the A/W show this is a great show but its a -5 as a follow up to the fallshow.

This collection certainly lacks the flair and theatricality of many of the previous seasons, but I don't see that as being necessarily a flaw. I'm glad Galliano is doing something subtle this season and it's particularly refreshing to see him doing draped dresses again - they are simply works of art - really beautifully draped, folded, and tucked - it's a great way of following up on the draped dresses segment from the F/W 2006 couture collection.

Only qualm I have is with the hair, which somewhat doesn't go well with me, but otherwise, I can sum up my feelings with this: I lost almost one hour of sleep for the sake of following the updates for this show and I can say that I am not disappointed at all - that hour lost has been worth it. Good work, Galliano!

oh the evening wear is just amazing all the detailing is wonderous...totally in love

This is fantastic, it's minimalist on the surface, but has beautiful, amazing details, not to mention the beautiful shoes and handbags.

Spring me!!!

Wanna see all the whole collection, the details,
and the backstage, but I like it so far!!!!!

Galliano makes a fabric look wonderful,
even if he is drapping or just playing with it!!!

The venue is interesting
The Grand Palais by Dior looks wonderful
and he hair is funny!!!!!
:boxer:
And Galliano posing as always!!!
what a cool!

well i don't know if the hair was meant to look good (icky) but the clothes ... they really are amazing. i'm in love with a few of those dresses!

I'm so torn by this collection
on one hand, i LOVE this collection
on the other, I miss the crazy, fucky, dior collections john galliano usually puts out

The disgruntled Balenciaga fans are probably flocking this way right now.

lol.

I also wish brighter colours were used. I especially really hate dusty pink. I'm so over it.

omg this collection is just so not galliano! it's really toned down for him but still stunningly beautiful in it's own way! amazing!

Stunning. Highlight of Paris (even though this is only the second day...I still have a feeling this will be VERY memorable throughout the week). Galliano translated the couture so wonderfully. Unlike others, I really like the hair, very Jeanne D'Arc, y'know! I think it's very creative. The set is very cathedral like but very modern. Oh!!! I just can't get over it!!!!

The only thing is.................the music is Christina Aguilera (I actually like her new album, but for this show? I don't care if this is 'back to basics). John and Jeremy are usually SPOT on when it comes to choosing the perfect music to enhance the theme of the show. So, as of now, I'm not optimistic for the music.

wow... much more restrained than previous collections... i don't hate it

I love those shoes!!! THe bags are kinda cool but a little like mall bags...if you know what I mean...in general I like the feeling of this collection.

On a different note, what's this thing that is in the wigs of several of the models? Looks like some type of Terminator deal. :shifty:
it looks like chain from the bag handles

I was thinking the same thing... looking forward to watching the video to see how he did it.
