I’m going to report that account ASAP
I back that. Even as a former LV employee, I never understood his RTW for them. Ever since SS21 I’ve left feeling confused & uncomfortable after his shows.Nicolas Ghesquière should've retired years ago
I agree that plus-size models aren't always the best to, well, model clothing.Diversity in Fashion: Fashion doesn't necessarily need to be diverse. It's important to recognize that beauty often aligns with the tall and slender physique. Plus-size models can detract from the elegance of the clothes and may struggle on the runway. I believe that the ideal body types should reflect the iconic supermodels of the '90s and the slim figures of the early 2000s.
They were recognized as starved teenagers because those girls came from the former USSR (most of them) in contrast to the western women. But even before, the 35" hip standard etc.. has always been in demand since the 50s and it should remain so in my opinion. Not as drastic as the late 00s.I agree that plus-size models aren't always the best to, well, model clothing.
I also think 00s model body standards were absolutely insane, to the level that even the models themselves - and these were not the plus size ones - could not live up to it and there have been dozens of models of that era who've since stated on the record that their health was severely compromised by the demands of remaining runway-ready or they weren't being fed/senior fashion industry figures they worked with were calling them 'fat' for going through puberty. The 90s ones are a healthier ideal because for the most part, they looked like adult women, not starved teenagers.
but yeah all the talk about the 'average woman size' obscures one thing - most women with the money to afford higher-end fashion, are well below that 'average size', and stay that way if they can help it.
He should retire. He is clearly evil and shows no remorse for what he did. His apology rings completely hollow. If he is now to be "rewarded" with a prestigious house now it just shows how corrupt everything is. Him and Jonathan Anderson both are as psychotic as each other!I don't want to see Galliano at any other house. He should retire or maybe start designing costumes for opera.
I'd say height/proportions/bone structure should be the physical traits models absolutely should have, like I don't care about how anyone feels 'seen', a 5'4" Lila Moss has no business being on a runway - if they really want to be models they can do commercial work or catalogues/e-commerce.They were recognized as starved teenagers because those girls came from the former USSR (most of them) in contrast to the western women. But even before, the 35" hip standard etc.. has always been in demand since the 50s and it should remain so in my opinion. Not as drastic as the late 00s.
It is beyond me how that woman won model of the year and still continues to get booked. To be a short model you need to have an astonishing face like Kate Moss, Gia Carangi or Ruslana Korshunova let alone being plus size. Though I'd like to know how she climbed the latter to be ''considered'' one of the industry's top models. This is probably only unpopular for the general population but not here.
I have always wondered why Paloma gets runway bookings when she is both plus sized and the shortest in the casts. Standing out for one characteristic is the norm usually, but when it's 2 she really sticks out distractingly among the tall and thin line-ups.
I agree Lila Moss would be a sh*t dead-eyed model even with the height/proportions, just maybe not as.....insultingly obviously a nepo who isn't even fulfilling the bare minimum requirement for the job. I mean, at least the Hadids are tall/can pose.Okay, here's my 2 cents. I'm actually not bothered by short/petite or plus size models at all. Like, Lila Moss is a terrible model because she has zero personality and has no idea how to pose, not because of her size. If she had perfect model proportions she’d still be terrible.
