Cover Rumor Thread

Oh yuck! Graydon is the last person i want to see on any cover, just leave, and save us of your VANITY, and doing a cover, how ridiuclous, but not suprising!! The man always had a massive ego! So excited to see him out soon!

And DM is really gross in the way they keep attacking Edward, without even having the first issue to criticize! They always write a bunch of nonsense, but this feels personal. Makes me root for Edward even more!

I bought UK Cosmo Dec with Megan Fox on the cover today - baby blue background with Megan wearing pink, it's a proper Cosmo cover, if you know what I mean, a glam beauty looking a little bit tacky.

It's a cool shot, minus the awful Cosmo UK cover design, with massive texts and lines separating them.

I dunno, lol. I, just like many of VF's readers, absolutely revere the guy. He's got a distinct vision and POV in an era when everyone is trying really hard to be liked. I respect that a lot. It's impossible to like the magazine without liking him. Perhaps that's part of the reason why I like Justine as well. I'm positively gutted over his departure and I doubt whether his zeitgeist will be replicated especially with the names bandied about for his succession, but because the choice was his, one must accept it. At least he's not only leaving the magazine on with a solid cultural zeitgeist, but also with solid sales and SM reach.

I had a feeling that Edward would use Nick Knight for his first cover, perhaps not now, but it makes sense. Using Meisel would immediately link the first issue under his reign to Vogue Italia (or maybe even US, depending on how it looks), but Nick already has a long history with the magazine, can produce cutting-edge imagery and is British (plus his work would make more of a statement than say Craig McDean?)

I wonder if it's a group of models on the first cover? Hopefully not multi-cover business. The way mags are heading at the moment, I'm just intrigued at the mere notion of seeing what he'll produce...

Ashley Graham shot with Testino a while back, wonder for which magazine? Maybe Allure?

Cosmopolitan Middle East have just done an exclusive cover shoot with Carly Rae Jepsen while she was in Dubai.

UK Tatler Dec 17 is Bee Beardsworth (apparently a model). Image from newsstand.co.uk. I haven't received my subscription copy yet, so no idea of there's any further info about the new UK Vogue, which newsstand.co.uk lists as having an on-sale date of 08/11/17.

^You might of missed this snippet in the Business of Magazines thread; obviously zero info about the December cover star but I'm sure it's a clear indication of what to expect in terms of British Vogue's new design:

Ooh, that's next week!! :P

I'm not sure why, but I absolutely love this cover. Perfect for December. Minus the split ends, come on, this is Tatler!

Penelope Cruz is continuing to do the rounds, this time she's on the Dec 17 cover of Red (newsstand.co.uk)

Jodie Foster has a feature in the December issue of UK Harper’s Bazaar. The photos are on the Daily Mail this morning but there’s no cover, so I doubt it’s Jodie who landed it. The issue is out tomorrow, according to the article.

So her first issue is going to be January?
Anyone know how many changes she did in the team?

The only change I know of that's been announced is that she brought on Kyle Anderson from Marie Claire to be the Executive Fashion Director.

On the features side she hired a new Deputy Editor and Executive Editor. But as for fashion, does this mean she's firing Samira Nasr, since Kyle would essentially replace her? Joanne Pailey, ELLE's Market Director, used to be Nina's assistant so I have to believe she's staying. ELLE recently hired a new accessories director from Vogue, Maya Sasaki. No word if she'll stay or leave. One has to think the new creative director will also be let go, but again, no word on this.

Harpers UK is Kate Winslet

A preview of Kate's feature by Alexi Lubomirski (and I can only hope the side-profile shot is the subscribers cover with a nice silver-foiled masthead):

I mean it's nice and all, but my God, would it hurt them to hire another photographer? Alexi also shot her last cover. And I now realise he also does the Lancome campaigns alongside Testino. Maybe Kate is the one who's demanding him.

Flicking through my subscription issue of Tatler, there's no more mention of the UK Vogue, other than a repeat of that page with the massive words, with 10th November given as the on-sale date.

In the editor's letter, Jonathan Newhouse pays tribute to Si Newhouse.
