Cover Rumor Thread

So far I only saw Meisel and M&M's work? Multi covers, which is somewhat unlikely. The last time I saw Meisel and M&M's name in the same issue was earlier this year in British Vogue, when Meisel was the one who got the cover.
I cannot for the life of me imagine what a 'DNA' issue will be about.

For the life of me get Farneti out of this magazine. This gimmick is not at all exciting.

Also, lol-ed at the comments section of the IG post. One commented that the teaser LACKED Models of Color, and that all she sees were “white dna” (sic).

Also if you see the IG Highlights regarding the #DNA Quiz, you can see how Vogue Italia’s quality went downhill at the helm of this editor. Mad props for having the audacity to put their work next to Franca’s and Meisel’s

This seems to be an ill-thought-out theme, probably designed to virtue-signal Vogue Italia's stance on "diversity" but only succeeding in using the imprecise science behind ancestry databases to stick new labels on people.

Where do we stop with this gimmick? Are we going to see Lara Stone receive the news that she's got the cancer gene which means her breasts might be the end of her? What Gucci accessories will go with that?

After to see the first preview of the new VI, these footages with Karlie & Lexi by Meisel are from the issue of October 2014 & the Kendall's is for her cover story of February 2019.

I hope he's not planning on a cover or edit to reflect Gigi's DNA because that will turn out messy. Based on the IG comments, people are already waiting with their knives sharpened.

Still would like to know what's the story with the first clip.

Seeing those words in that typography gives me headache...

The problem with VI is that it is too gimmicky and I am afraid, sometimes that was the case during Franca time too. At first sight, you get an impression that this is a magazine that offers lots of creative variety but at the same time, you can see that they are limited by their choices and it is only self-imposed. You can’t claim to be artistically free if you work with photographers who stick to the same crop/type of models, stylist, aesthetics, etc. It’s like a recycling site. Franca tried to change it at the end with mitigated success but at least during Franca’s time, Meisel shot covers and he had his favourites and his vision which he often executed flawlessly but the magazine also worked with photographers and stylists who really contributed to it with their authentic vision. Nowadays, the works of current ‘masters’ are so inauthentic that it is almost hard to identify who shot what and M&M have championed and supported this trend. Anyway, maybe going back to Meisel isn’t such a bad idea after all. At least we get 1 out of 3-5 issues that give us something beautiful. At least he sticks to what he knows and I prefer Meisel (even when he is boring) to the inauthentic cr*p that we’ve been getting recently.

My subscription of British Harper's Bazaar just arrived and for August, models Demy De Vries, Heather Kemesky and Melodie Vaxelaire are on the cover... part of a huge collections editorial for the new season. Will scan and post shortly!

If Beyoncé gets a Vogue US cover this year I think it'd be September again, but I hope not. It's getting tiring.
