Cover Rumor Thread

It looks like Arlenis is stealing Jourdan's thunder as the black girl of the moment. Fashionista tends to hype up the models they like...i hope what they're reporting is true, though....she's wonderful!

And there's no kicking off Chanel...she shot for a US Vogue story before she got this VI gig :p

Wow, the all Black Vogue sounds exciting. I can't wait to see who they choose for the cover. I am not a big fan of Chanel Iman. She is just okay to me.

OMG are you serious...:woot:

I think that the exact issue of what is going with non-white models has been tackled on this very page. Whenever there are models who are not white they are compared to each other. I strongly dislike it when I visit Han's thread and see someone say "I like her better than Du Juan!" So? I like her better than Sasha and I don't go and compare them. Somehow people tend to compare one Asian with another, one black girl with another confirming the thought that there is only room for one Asian, or one black girl...we need to stop this. The goal of this issue is to achieve succesful work for Arlenis, Chanel, Jourdan, Sessilee, Iman, Naomi etc etc alltogether...not just one of those girls. Not a new Naomi who can kick Chanel's *** or whatever. Just new models, new successes, regardless of color. I really hope such remarks will disappear asap from this forum and the industry.

^ I don't think comparing one black (or asian) girl to another means there's only room for one... It's just that there are so few of them that it's actually possible to compare them... I'd love to compare white models with one another but that's not technically possible...

Bravisimo.....best comment EVER made on the Cover rumor thread!:flower:

it's only normal to pair groups and compare them.
If you have the cover of US Vogue May 2007, there you compared the models on the cover. If you have 4 Calvin Klein exclusives and you will compare those. If you have 5 models in one campaign you pick the best. Every model with a similar haircut to Agyness Deyn gets compared to her. It's about the look and the Asian models all look quite similar except Ai Tominaga that's it.

I agree, very well said Mr-Dale.

^ How many times have the VS girls been compared to each other? Or how many times have people talked about who the best brazilian is? And what about the Sasha VS Gemma discussions? It's not just about race or skin colour, it's, as Marcel said, about girls that look more or less similar or do the same thing... And Obviously it makes mores sense two compare to black models than a black model and a white model

It definetly makes sense what they say, but so often comments are made that imlpy one non-white girl replacing the other as the 'top' one....I really feel that is wrong and tackles a part of the core of the whole issue.

Veronica and Jourdan are simply stunning... why must they be marred down by that terrible hack Chanel Iman?

Vogue Italia Cover: Iman

This just in from a source:
The mystery face of the upcoming Vogue Italia is none other than the statuesque Iman!
She'll be surrounded by some other models (surely just a group of out-of-focus guys, er, girls), and now we're betting there'll be at least one picture of her and Chanel Iman together, hopefully wearing Chanel.
We're hoping this isn't just another rumor -
But we guess we'll see.
fashionista

 I can't imagine a cover with Iman as the star and other girls blurry in the background....Noone should be blurry and noone should be a Beyonce with Michelle and Kelly behind them. Isn't that the point of this issue? Anywho....we'll see....

I don't even like Iman, to me she is like Tyra Banks but that's probably because her time was long before mine

fashionista is usually wrong about everything:judge:

But Iman:wub: on the cover would be  & you know Steven has been doing the blurry smoky thing:shifty:

Ahhh well almost 2 more months of speculation will bring many rumors:innocent::doh:

Did my posts earlier contribute to that post? :p I hope it didn't sound that I think there's room for only one black model because I do wish there was more than one top black model. I'm just so anti-Chanel (Iman, not the fashion house).
