Cover Rumor Thread

I think a cover with one girl being the center of attention with the others blurred out would defeat the whole purpose. It's about everyone being equal, not someone taking over the limelight from others.

I wonder if he could fit every single girl into the cover ,but that might be overkill.

I think putting all the girls on the cover is a bad idea... It's like saying "OK, the black issue is a one-off idea, that won't happen again and it's the only chance these girls will get to be on the cover". If the whole concept has the consequences it's supposed to have, those girls will have other occasions to be on the cover...

^I know..............but how could they not include her?

Well......maybe they could^_^

Iman is a bit safe. In a way, it's Naomi who started the whole discussion...so, well, ok. A bit safe. The best would be to put a new model on the cover, but both Chanel and Jourdan might be too predictable...I'm really surprised by all the unpleasant comments Chanel is getting. She is a young, pretty girl with perfect model proportions - is it really her name that brings this out in people? I can't see that I've seen that about any other model before. Except Kate Moss, and that's a bit different...

^yeah, she seems to really incite irrational hate out of people.. :innocent:

french vogue buzz

The next challenge for The Squad is to decipher that previously buzzed Vogue Paris cover event. The issue is said to be "very French" as in defiantly so. Two very French models were booked. One who for years was an iconic face for a venerable designer, the other a tremendously beautiful girl who rose to a more mass market kind of stardom. Will it both? The one? The other? In any case it seems the directional kids have grown tired of those damn anonymous editorial faces. In a very sustained way. Which brings us to that All American editorial beauty who is about to enter paparazzi heaven. Smart girl. She knows the future is not celebrity vs model, but rather "the-model-as-celebrity". It can be done! It can be done!

^^ I hope Heloise is one of the two

They're supposed to be stars. I'm thinking the second could be Laetitia Casta?

I'm actually more curious about the All-American editorial star who's about to enter paparazzi heaven. Is it someone dating an A-list star, or what? I must've missed something, because I have no idea who he's talking about.

^ They say one of them has been a muse for a designer for years and the other one rose to a mass market stardom... So I doubt it's a new girl...

My first thought was Laetitia Casta. But she fits both descriptions: she was YSL's muse at some point, and she achieved mass market recognition thanks to Victoria's Secret and L'Oréal... However, if she's one of the two models, I think the latter clue is about her...

And the Iconic face for a designer could be Filippa Hamilton... She's been a Ralph Lauren exclusive for years, and has already graced the cover of Vogue Paris so Carine likes her...

It could also be Morgane, who's been the muse of JPG and Galliano for quite a few years now, but as much as I'd love it, I can't see that happening :(

I thought it was Hilary Rhoda. She's the only "All-American editorial star" I can think of.

How about Noemie for the second one? She's more mainstream/mass market and was in the last Rush Hour movie...?

Apparantly, they don't like her personality...but whatever...it's not like they know them personally or something. I certainly do like her!

That's not it for me... I love plenty of models that are douche bags in real life, allegedly. I just don't think she has a model face; she looks like an overgrown baby, and not in the "doll face" way like Gemma, Heather, Caroline et all. And even though she has a model build, there is just something so common about her look; compared to Jourdan, Liya, Yasmine, and even Veronica Webb, she is very low class looking in my opinion.

what about Ines de la Fressange?

 exactly! she was my first taught too. She is iconic in fashion circles, and since they're underlining that the second one is more mass market type, I'll agree with everyone who's saying Letitia.
