Cover Rumor Thread

I love Iman but i hope its not true that she got the cover, i mean what the hell is the point of giving the cover to someone like her who isnt working as a model anymore, she should be included but the cover? Why not give it to one of the new girls? It would mean so much to her resume, ugh i am so sick of fashion Politics.

Apparantly, they don't like her personality...but whatever...it's not like they know them personally or something. I certainly do like her!

But they do know her "personally"...going off by what the "industry insiders" have to say ...

If she happens to end up on the cover ...i hope there'll be some disclaimer in the first post about continued negativity because the thread will get flooded with some ugly comments...

I have never in my life bought or seen Parade magazine, can someone explain to me what kind of magazine it is?

^ It comes with the sunday paper in the states...it's really thin and cheap

^^^^Jesus Christ, and they say girls these days feel they have to be perfect - I guess they don't have eyes - you can be on the cover of a magazine looking like hell

That's not it for me... I love plenty of models that are douche bags in real life, allegedly. I just don't think she has a model face; she looks like an overgrown baby, and not in the "doll face" way like Gemma, Heather, Caroline et all. And even though she has a model build, there is just something so common about her look; compared to Jourdan, Liya, Yasmine, and even Veronica Webb, she is very low class looking in my opinion.

*** EDITED ***

I like everything about that cover except the Graphics, the styling and SJP.

Ok, as tempted as I am to continue this discussion here, we have to stay on topic. Further discussion about model likes or dislikes belongs in the Models whose appeal you can't get thread.

While I'm quite excited that SJP is supposed to be on the new US Vogue, I'm not getting my hopes up because their covers have been downright lousy lately. They get a decent cover personality and then put a riduclous picture on the cover. Sad.

^^ U know I don't dislike the covers that US Vogue puts out, but to me they are just to portrait-y, not anything that is visually/mentally stimulating. They are playing it safe, and it would be nice of them to experiment! Maybe Anna was at some point in her tenure of EIC, "fresh", but know its just too plain and does not really speak to the next generation of Vouge-heads !!!!! US Vogues is like the Armani of Vogues....sure the clothes are good and what not, but they always seem to be the same and at some point become irrelevant!

^ I don't think she fits the descriptions from theimagist but that would be lovely

It really would, Audrey is one of my all-time girls, though I would put Morgan Dubled just because she's my favorite French girl. :p

More speculation on Jourdan

The following passage (boldface mine) from The Times seems to suggest that Jourdan will be on the cover of the July issue of both the American and Italian Vogue. I hope that's the case, and not just poor reading comprehension and wishful thinking on my part.

Such is the heat around [Jourdan] Dunn and the ethnic issue right now that, in an attempt to stave off accusations of inequality, both Italian and American Vogue have been fighting over her for their covers. Italian Vogue’s entire July issue has been shot with black models (the last time it featured one on its cover was 2002); American Vogue has also shot Dunn for its July edition.

At this point my opinion is that if VI really wanted to make such a statement about black models...they should have put Jourdan (or whomever they chose from the group they photographed) on their September issue.

Who says that the July issue will be the only cover of the year where a black model is going to be featured? I don't think this is going to be a one time thing, or at least I hope it doesn't become a one time thing.
