Adriana's pic looks very beauty edit to me. I highly doubt it's for the cover. Though I would LOVE to see Adriana grab a cover, that shot is not very cover-worthy in my opinion. I really think it is going to be Raquel, if we can trust the blonde Sorrenti rumor !

I am also wondering who is going to guest edit the annual December/January issue. Many of you keep throwing Lady Gaga's name around, which is a complete horrific nightmare to me. I would be irritated if she grabbed a cover for a random month, let alone the most important issue of the year! The woman has been in the public eye for less than twelve months; she is NOT deserving of the title icon! If she is still here in 5 years, maybe, but until then, ABSOLUTELY not! It would be a complete insult to the rest of the creditable, steadfast modern fashion figures who have guest-edited in the past if Lady Gaga was a part of the December/January issue.

I have been thinking a lot the last couple of days, and it has occurred to me that Tom Ford has never guest-edited the holiday issue of VP. Seeing as he and Carine are TIGHTTTTTTTTTT friends and colleagues and he has been extensively focused on in the magazine in the past, it is a bit surprising that he has never guest-edited. Right now, with his new film out and rumours abounding that he is returning to womenswear, it wouldn't be completely out of the blue if he were to be a part of the holiday issue. This is pure speculation and thought, but imagine the possibilities: more sex and decadence than one could ever DREAM of! It would make for a FANTASTIC issue! Then there is the rumour from a couple of months ago that Courtney Love may be guest-editing, which sounds like one of my (wet) dreams come true! Just think of the editorial prospects!!!!!! Platinum blonde, baby doll dresses, grunge, sheer insanity, glamour, cake makeup, guitars, police..... I could go on and on! Either of these two figures definitely sound a HELL of a lot better than any collaboration with Lady Gaga could ever produce.

I'd DIE if the dec/jan issue was guest-edited by Tom Ford Can't you just contact VP and tell them to cancel everything they're doing with whoever they picked up as a guest editor and choose Tom instead?

Didn't someone here said that Courtney Love "seemed to think she's going to be a guest editor for the dec/jan issue" or something like that ?

Do you have to have anything coming out soon to be picked up as a guest editor?

I don't think one has to have something coming out to be picked as guest editor. I just think they have to be iconic, sometimes French, figures who have contributed to fashion in some way and also fit into the aesthetic of the magazine.

Because, presumably, this holiday issue will also be the magazine's 90th anniversary issue, I am guessing we should be seeing something SPECTACULAR, and also a person that reflects the magazine's identity. I have a feeling it will be someone who has made their mark on fashion and has also been around for some time. Also, because there has only been one male guest editor in the past under Carine's editorship- John Galliano- it wouldn't be odd if another male contributed. Still, there are MANY people who haven't guest-edited yet, and Carine always likes to surprise us, especially with last year's pick. I'm just crossing my fingers that it is someone worthwhile and deserving, who has made a clear influence on fashion.

Hopefully WWD will have the scoop later this month, like they usually do.

^Last year's definitely wasn't the best of the guest-edited holiday issues. My favorite is either Sofia Coppola's or Kate Moss's. John Galliano's and Catherine Deneuve's were very nice as well.

I hope we get the scoop soon as well, because my anticipation is through the roof ! Weren't we notified a bit early last year? I remember finding out in late-October/early-November.

For me hands down Kate's wins, it was so well done, i still look at it. Of course Coppola's was good as well.

^Yes, very weird. But, then again, ANYTHING is possible with Carine. We all know how she loves to push the limits.

Still, though, because this is most likely the anniversary issue for the magazine, I am guessing we will see a classic Parisian fashion figure, someone like Betty Catroux or Lou Lou de la Falaise, maybe even Sonia Rykiel, who would be COMPLETELY fabulous! Too bad Catherine Deneuve has already guest-edited ! She would be perfect for this issue!
