I missed that detail on the first read-through. What an absolutely bloody bummer. Unless, of course, she's willing to put the tofu to one side for a while, and come out as something other than a wet earth mother.

that was one of her best covers...
what's really interesting is not too many of the cover subjects havea much to promote...
yes, sienna and ashley have fashion lines, jessica alba, claire danes, and the high school musical kids have movies, but the rest? gwen stefani? ashlee simpson? britney??
queen latifah and anne hathaway's movies are already out...
i hope this doesn't mean a trend in mags...

Back in the days when she was a designer muse, I didn't mind Gwyneth that much, but she seems to have completely different priorities now, and my heart sinks at the potential lecture on eco-living by someone who has too much money to mention.

If she's started working again and wants to talk about her creative process, fair enough, but there's always the threat that the article will instead be about the tribulations of being the best-paid housewife in Britain.

I don't understand what warrants a September cover for Sienna Miller? I think Anna plays favorites with British actresses. Sienna has no major achievements to speak of and their are certainly worthier actresses. She is really trying to shove Sienna down our throats.

Sienna has stardust coming out so...that's why. I think she is a good actress...she's definitely moving up the ranks...

The British press sent media watchers on both sides of the pond into a tizzy on Friday reporting that Amy Winehouse would be on the cover of American Vogue in September. The Daily Mirror reported Aug. 3 that "Ice queen Anna [Wintour, Vogue's editor in chief] insisted on the singer after falling in love with her award-winning album 'Back to Black.' Our Amy was then chosen to front the style bible's September issue, traditionally the highest-selling of the year." The story also quoted a magazine insider saying, "An order from Anna Wintour is like a royal command and the order was 'Get me Amy.'" Though a number of American blogs picked up on the erroneous report, Jezebel.com corrected the misinformation almost as quickly as it was reported Friday after calling a Vogue spokesman for comment. The spokesman confirmed to Jezebel.com Friday and again to Memo Pad on Monday that Winehouse will not be on the cover of Vogue, but will appear in the Fashion Rocks supplement that accompanies the issue. Since September issues are usually the fat ones, everything can happen. They have to sell. On the other hand I really like that picture of Kate, she looks a bit like Sasha in that shot.

Out tomorrow, it looks like Catherine Zeta-Jones will be on the cover of the September issue of Tatler - online news feeds are carrying snippets from the interview, including this one from people.com:

Catherine Zeta-Jones is enjoying life with two kids – so how about having another?
