Cover Rumor Thread

Penélope Cruz is on the cover of Elle Spain Feb, wearing ysl and Versace

Patrick Demarchelier shot Charlee Fraser, Andreja Pejic and Akiima for the April cover of Vogue Australia. Styled by Christine Centenera.

+ Fernanda Ly. I hope each girl will get her own cover because Demarchelier is not known for his composition. You need only to look at his Vogue China group covers.

LOL at Vogue Australia spreading their own rumours, very cheeky yet clever!

Vogue Australia to feature Australian models Charlee Fraser, Fernanda Ly, Akiima and Andreja Pejic on upcoming cover

18th Jan 2018
by Vogue Team

“These Australian models are from such diverse and inspiring backgrounds and truly represent the face of modern Australia.”

In response to comments today regarding the lack of diversity in the fashion industry, we are taking the unprecedented step of revealing that this behind-the-scenes image is from an exciting upcoming cover of Vogue Australia which will feature some of the diverse and beautiful faces of Australian modelling together: Charlee Fraser, Fernanda Ly, Akiima and Andreja Pejic.

Vogue Australia editor-in-chief Edwina McCann said today: “These Australian models are from such diverse and inspiring backgrounds and truly represent the face of modern Australia. Together they present a powerful picture of where we are as a country today not only in fashion, but in society in general.

“The shoot, styled by our fashion director Christine Centenera, was photographed in New York last year where these women are working at the very top of their game. Getting them together was no small feat, however I feel it is such an important statement for Vogue Australia and well worth the mammoth efforts of our production team over many months.”

^ Ha, that is a cool move on Edwina's part! I also hope each gets their own cover, especially looking forward to see Andreja. Always made me sad she never got the solo cover.

Also why on earth is the release of the issues so late in the month now? Annoying, it used be like first week of each month!

I wondered why I hadn’t seen a GQ UK cover and then realised they’ve dropped issues. They’ve combined Jan and Feb. Next issue will be the March. I’ve always wondered how it survives, it’s the dullest publication. Are there even still men wanting a ‘gentleman’s quarterly’?

So the rumours of Dylan Jones putting himself forward to take over at VF must be true then. I don't know how they survive. I do still like the journalism personally but then men's magazines always tend to have more hard-hitting scoops than women's anyway. But then I feel like their audience moved on to other platforms since GQ forgot that they still have straight men to cater for. For instance, show me the percentage of straight blokes who find Adwoa Aboah traditionally sexy? I know I'm generalising here, but maybe the reason Maxim outsells GQ is because they're staying true to their core identity.....

First issue of Vogue Poland will be released on February 14.

^This is exciting, I hope they use their models as much as possible. There is so many of them that I hope get a cover.

Kaya Scodelario has shot the cover of uk Marie Claire

Gugu Mbatha-Raw has shot a UK monthly and weekly cover

Soarise Ronan has shot the cover of STYLE

Surprised at the relative lack of covers for Saoirse Ronan. She has an amazing face that photographs well, dresses in an interesting, sometimes quirky way, and is now a three-time Oscar nominee at only 23. I'd put her on the cover of my imaginary magazine in a heartbeat!

I agree with this 100%. What she hasn't done, however, is aligned herself with a single major brand yet. If she wants major covers, she's gotta get herself an ambassador contract, the way that many of her peers (JLaw, Natalie, Emma, etc) have done.

^ Perhaps she doesn't want that, though? Being a brand ambassador and scoring covers? She is still relatively an indie actress and looks to me like she wants to keep that going for a while. The largest production she has been in has been The Lovely Bones really, and that was almost ten years ago.

What about Brooklyn? Brooklyn was good and it looks like they shot it in Ireland and America.

Yeah, Brooklyn was fantastic and she got a lot of attention for it, but it was an 11 million dollar movie - not exactly what you'd call a big production in Hollywood. So she very much continues to pick smaller, successful films and not mainstream ones with huge budgets, star-studded casts and extremely powerful people to push for media coverage.

I wonder who photographed Naomi Campbell for the March cover of British Vogue? Do you think another Steven Meisel cover story is possible after December? Edward might've went with Mert & Marcus or someone else to ensure a safe budget for the issue. I'm keen to see Naomi back on British Vogue, nevertheless.

It had to have been M&M. Some weeks back someone posted a pic from M&M wrapping up a shoot in the early hours of the morning. I think it was tagged March, or something.

When you think about it it makes sense to shoot Naomi that time of the morning. To excuse for her to be late....

Wasn't it for Love Magazine?

For all we know its a Naomi Campbell reprint! Its possible. #NewVogue

If the Jan/Feb covers are any indication, March covers do not look exciting at all (especially for US Vogue)

^ Hahah nothing will shock me from Edward, after the Feb cover!

I heard about Naomi from unreliable source, and someone wrote they heard it's defo not her, which makes me wonder if it could be Kate! #NewVogue

@Plax : Here's the post, not sure who it was, but it's definitely for British Vogue according to Mert.

The heading was '2:00AM. It's a wrap for British Vogue'
