Cowboy Boots

As a trend, I'd say there still in, but on the verge of going out.

As a wardrobe staple, I'd say they're always in. Just depends on your style :flower:

I agree. I think they look cute with jeans and skirts. Hell, why not some dresses too.

I think it depends on the person, if cowboyboots are your style, in. I'm just not that into them, so for me theyre out

personally I LOVE my cowboy boots, lucky for me people around here aren't all into the boho style, so I don't look like a clone.

It's a bit funny with cowboy boots.. Every now and then, they're touted as the big thing but noone really wears them, right? At least not in Europe?

Jessica Simpson kind of ruined them for me :ninja:

I saw cowboy boots a lot in London and Paris few months ago........

O-u-t.

If you're on a ranch, fine. On a horse, cool. In Texas, fabulous.

LA or Miami shopping? Too trendy to be taken seriously.

hey Im from miami!! and you're right, people down here (at least the ones I see) are either decked out in "urban"/ghetto wear or abercrombie and AE crap, they can't see past that...

same here. unfortunately for my eyes. people are dressed like that in my city and are too cocky to see the trends or adjust to them. I bought a pair of second hand black suede cowboy boots at Value Village and I love them. I hardly see anyone in cowboy boots but I do see cowboy hats which are ridicious actually. I once saw a girl dressed in all peacock blue - capris, t-shirt, purse, and cowboy hat. It was horrendous.

i think in us (especially cali) they were in a few years ago at the time when they werent anything in europe. then they came fashionable in europe last fall/spring time with the hippy look...i guess in the us they are considered out now...

i like mine still and i can wear them sometimes with couple of outfits...if i wear my jeans over them they are just like normal pointy boots..

since they come and go.. im not gonna throw mine out...

I live in Cali.. and I haven't seen many cowboy boots around.

I've been looking for a vintage pair all summer and I've had no luck.

Where I live, Target has a pair in their shoe section. I'm debating on whether to buy them or not.

I want to buy them because I LIKE THEM... not because Jessica, Lindsay, or Nicole have been wearing them.

Do you guys think I should get them?

(By the way, I'm new. I've been lurking for a while & I really like this forum!!) :flower:

^ Sure get and wear what you like. That's when you should get a item...when its a like and not because you have to jump the bandwagon trend. :flower:

I like them for comfy days to throw something with jeans and a tee not for the sake of trend. I just want something easy when I just have to run a quick errand or something and you can only wear flipflops and Vans slip-ons so much before it get boring....I'm looking into a new cowboy boot...possibly in red.

I agree. Its not like you have to be uber fashionable 24/7...Cowboys are comfy and have a nice look with jeans.

Red ones would look hot!

I would like to find myself a new pair...I think vintage stores in L.A. carry them..

I agree, red cowboy boots would look great. And I didn't know target sold them!! I'm always last to find out that target is selling all these cool things, I really should pass by there more often.

I have to say, I have wanted to rock the cowboy boot look but because of the uber-trendy stigma I have stayed away.

I have not spotted one person wearing them in Toronto, so I think I could get away with it. But when I do my daily tFS visit I see at least one cowboy boot bash a day and I can't make the purchase! ;)

Ugh, I'm obviously far too influenced but how can I not be when there's so much good taste here. Perhaps deep down I know it should be a look to avoid for me.. ;)

i just saw the target boots, and i dont know...they dont really look "real" to me, if that makes sense :ermm:

Like Lena said, OUT, they were cute for a week when the trend emerged, but then....... blah :yuk:
