It's no customization, my mom and I made it all by ourselves when we got inspired by a picture, but here's my cat purse!

oh, loving this thread!
When there are peroids when I can't go shopping, i have a huge need for some changes in my warderobe. Then i things like:

-Cutting 2 tops in half and sewing the together just right beneath the bust, sometimes I even sew a cute ribbin around the seam^_^

- cutting off/replacing sleves

- with different pieces of clothing that fits me perfect I love pick it apart, and use it as a pattern to sew more in different colors and styles:D (later I can sew the original piece together again)

- make holes in, and a weared out look to my pants with sandpaper

- sew boleroes of way to short sweathers

- make hair decorations of different things I find in stores and so on

- spraypaint shoes, belts and beltbuckles

- paint on my t-shirts with fabric paint

- sew my own handbags

- buy pearls and make my own special bead necklaces and bracelets

- embroider my purses and t-shirts

havent read through the whole thread so there might be more about it but.. has anyone got any good lips about ageing jeans-anyone know how to stone wash? at the moment their on the washing line outside but their just getting damp, thers not much fading going on!
Cool bag 'Jane loves Marc'!!!

I painted my white reebok sneaker's and followed the exiticing line with black paint and the cool thing no one knew which was cool cause I had to tell them.

i was bored, so i made these. not too wearable....

I came up with this idea for shorts the other day, and just started making them today! They're not done, but I will post photos when they are.

as promised pics of the Undercover knock off.....am unsure if this is "customised" or "sewing".....the jacket is made out of 4 tshirts.

1. old skate company Birdhouse tshirt with Drew Barrymore smoking in a leopard coat says "I heart cigarette smoke" (I know it's Drew because I remember the photo spread in Details that had this shot back in the early 90s)

2. local artist tee purchased in Kentucky lungs with lightning bolts inside (I had no initial plan for them to be a theme, it just worked out that way)

3. sleeveless tee with a spiderweb used on back and one sleeve (turned to wrong side....couldn't have too much web;) )

4. Gentleman Jack, Jack Daniels tee used for lining on back and the other slv...turned inside out so it just has texture instead of the actual print.

the zipper is sewn directly onto the jacket so you see the tape....and the neck is left raw....haven't decided if it will get finished later. both sleeves are made out of the bodies of the tshirts one you will see has the rounded edge from the neck, the other was too short, so there are inserts to give it more of a layered length.....the body of the jacket is all double layers, the sleeves are only one layer.

^ Ditto :D The pictures of you WEARING it are amazing though

I have a customisations question, and I'm not sure if this is the place to post it, but here goes. I'm skinny-fying some black velvet pants, but the velvet is very thick and black and full I guess would be a good word. :p I would prefer it to be more distressed, has anyone ever had luck distressing velvet? :(

Wow, people in here do some great work!
Not a great customizer myself, but thought I'd share this. I found this white satin bow belt that once matched with a white princess-ish dress I wore when I was 10. There's no way I'd ever fit into the dress again, but the belt I thought I might make wearable again. But since I obviously don't have my tiny 10-year-old waist I just removed the clasps and sew them back on further out to make the waist larger. I think the belt is really cute.

Here are some pics where I paired the belt with a powder puff top from H&M (and sweat pants, as I am just hanging around at home)

I can wear it both with the bow on the front, like this:

And with the bow on the back, makes it look a bit like a cumberbund at the front, no?

Chris, tht jacket's really wonderful! I saw it on the "wearing" thread, the fitting looks great.
