D&G F/W 07.08 Milan

I really REALLY hate animal print but for some reason I found myself liking a lot of pieces from this collection.

^We don't have to. It seems Dolce & Gabbana lifted the ban.

MILAN, February 19, 2007 – With a blast of Disco Inferno and a long stretch of animal-printed runway, Dolce e Gabbana set off in the direction of the Studio 54 seventies. It began with a series of chiffon leopard-spot dresses with full sleeves and high, scarf-tied necklines, intercut with variations on bow-tied, white-shirted tuxedo suits. This is established territory for their main line, and it lent a distinctly dressed-up focus to one of their familiar romps around the junior brand—happily, the effect was more a case of Jerry Hall posing on a banquette than momma coming home to break up a teenage house party.

Not that there weren't short shorts and minute gold Lurex numbers and incy baby dolls à la Biba to keep the little ones happy—or bicolored patent duffels so oversized a girl could probably smuggle a boyfriend upstairs in one. But overall, the sense of extending the brand was uppermost. Cute staples, like high-belted black coats and nonconfrontational flower-print dresses, strengthened the Mom-can-I-have-that appeal for Fall. And who knows? Maybe the high-waist metallic flares and some of the more covered-up gowns might tempt the woman who holds the purse strings to shell out for herself on a mother-daughter shopping spree.

I really like this, although the long dresses in leopard print are a bit much. I also love the oversized bags - I carry a lot of crap with me.

I really can't understand why more people don't like this. Yes, it's been done numerous times before, but who cares? It's sexy and cute.

this just does not work

The proportions on the suits are all wrong, and the long cigarretes don't look cool but look forced.

Much of this looks too cotumey

After seeing the entire collection, I didn't think it was half bad, and I generally don't like D&G but I thought the collection grew up a bit this season.

i only like the one leopard dress on freja... the rest are hideous, especially considering the print is so small and repetitive. i love tanya in her tux but the others are so ill fitting and atrocious. also, i think d&g has some weird casting. some of these models are just beat.

i see the top models but there are some random girls i dont recognize with verry strange faces... and not strange in a good way

Not to get hung up on the bags - I'm waiting to see more of the collection before I comment - but were they being ironic maybe?

Why did they have to to leapard prints  There's nothing I dislike more. And that white wallpapery print is terrible too. The tuxedo's are really bad too.
But its not all bad. I really like the cranberryish satin coat and the black (or is it dark blue?) dress with the gold lines. Those are actually quite nice. And I like the navy blue with white polka dot scarves and pumps!
